At launch, the service supports the transition from smartphones to tablets, and the tablet's taskbar displays 'Handoff Suggestions,' suggesting the last app you had open on your smartphone. Tapping this suggestion on your tablet will launch the app with a single tap, allowing you to resume your work from where you left off.

In addition to Google Docs, it can also be used in other apps such as Gmail. Continue On is a feature available in Android 17 (API level) and can be implemented by various app developers to customize the user experience.

Apple also has a similar feature called 'Handoff.'
