'Beyond the Dark' is a survival horror game where players explore a building shrouded in darkness, avoiding terrifying enemies, searching for hidden clues, and escaping. Parker received a message from a viewer that 'Beyond the Dark' contained malware, and decided to investigate.

The release date is December 28, 2024, but many of the reviews attached to it are from 2026. According to the gaming media outlet PCGamesN, 'Beyond the Dark' was originally released on Steam as a completely different game called 'Rodent Race,' and was replaced by 'Beyond the Dark' in May 2026.

Analysis of 'Beyond the Dark' on a properly isolated virtual machine revealed that malware was embedded in

a DLL file called 'UnityPlayer.dll,' which was stealing user data. The game reportedly did not function correctly.

According to a viewer who reported the issue, 'Beyond the Dark' targets cryptocurrency users and includes code that detects Chrome extensions related to cryptocurrency, Parker says.

Valve removed 'Beyond the Dark' from Steam after Parker's video was released, but no official statement has been issued regarding the reason for the removal.
