We conducted a thorough investigation into the gaming habits of GIGAZINE readers, asking questions like: What game consoles do you own? What game consoles do you want? What are your favorite game genres?

Games ' category, GIGAZINE publishes articles with the latest information on various games, as well as reviews based on actual gameplay. Curious about the extent to which GIGAZINE readers actually play games, we conducted a survey through our annual gift giveaway questionnaire .

First, we looked into the percentage of GIGAZINE readers who are gamers. 71.4% of readers regularly play games, while 28.6% do not. This represents an increase in the percentage of gamers compared to the previous survey .

Next, we graphed the responses to the question, 'How many hours a day do you play games?' Since readers who answered 'I don't play games' were also allowed to participate, the most frequent answer was '0 hours.' The average daily game play time for GIGAZINE readers was ' 1 hour and 47 minutes ,' and excluding those who answered '0 hours,' the average daily game play time was ' 2 hours and 31 minutes .' The longest average daily game play time was ' 19 hours .'

The following are the results of a survey asking users to select the tags that apply to the games they frequently play from the top 100

most frequently used game tags on Steam . The top 5 most popular tags were 'Action' (21.5%), 'RPG' (20.5%), 'Simulation' (16.3%), 'Indie' (13.7%), and 'Adventure' (11.5%), which remained unchanged from the previous survey.

What was the gaming scene like among GIGAZINE readers? The percentage of gamers was quite high at over 70%, and the ownership rate of the Nintendo Switch 2, which was released exactly one year ago, was very high at 25%. The survey also showed a high level of interest in the latest gaming devices such as Steam Machine and Steam Frame.
