Meta's text-based social networking service, Threads, has reached 500 million monthly active users. Going forward, they plan to introduce ' Your Algo, ' an advanced version of their 'Dear Algo' feature that uses AI to adjust feed content.

Threads is a platform that launched in July 2023, and approximately two years after its launch, in August 2025, it achieved 400 million monthly active users.

Meta also operates other social networking services such as Facebook and Instagram, but Threads focuses on short-form posts and can be considered a rival to X (formerly Twitter). Furthermore, as of January 2026, Threads has surpassed X in daily active users for its app.

Threads introduced a 'Community' feature in beta in 2025, and it has now been announced that it will be moving to the official version, along with the addition of some features that were frequently requested by users.
• Community Hub : Add 'Communities' to the main menu on the left side of the feed for easier searching and switching between communities.
- Community icons : Each community will have its own unique visual element, making them easier to find on Threads.
- Community progress : You will be able to see how long it takes for a topic to become a community and how users can contribute to making it happen.
- Community Champion : More users will be awarded the 'Community Champion' status.
• Local Communities : Local language tags will be introduced in Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, and community localization will be advanced.
In addition, a new feature called 'Your Algo' will be introduced, which complements 'Dear Algo,' a feature introduced in February 2026 that adjusts the content of topics displayed in the feed. 'Your Algo' will allow users to communicate and control the topics displayed in their feed to Threads in a way that only they understand. Both 'Dear Algo' and 'Your Algo' can be managed through the integrated hub.
