According to news site The Information, Meta plans to start placing ads on Threads in early 2025, and a team within Instagram's advertising division is working on the plan.

According to Reuters, a Meta advertising representative said, 'Threads currently has no advertising or monetization features because our priority is building consumer value above all else.'

CFO Susan Lee has also said she doesn't see advertising revenue from Threads as a meaningful driver for the company, suggesting this is a long-term approach.
