The inability to block an AI account similar to 'Grok' on Threads has become a hot topic.

The AI account '

@meta.ai ' has launched on the social networking service 'Threads.' The system automatically replies to posts containing '@meta.ai,' but the fact that this account cannot be blocked has become a topic of discussion.

@meta.ai is an account that functions similarly to ' @grok ' on X (formerly Twitter), automatically replying to mentions of @meta.ai with AI-generated text.

As of the time of writing, there is no way to block this account. The option to 'block account,' which is normally available in the menu list, simply does not exist.

These specifications sparked user backlash, resulting in numerous angry replies to posts by @meta.ai, the official Threads account, and Threads head Connor Hayes. At one point, the topic 'Users cannot block Meta AI' trended with over a million posts.

@meta.ai is currently being tested in Argentina, Malaysia, Mexico, Saudi Arabia, and Singapore. A Meta spokesperson explained, 'During the testing period, users can manage their AI experience. If you want to reduce the number of AI replies in your Threads feed, you can mute or hide them, or use the 'not interested' option.'
