Wear OS 7 features enhanced connectivity with devices such as earphones and smart glasses. For example, if you take a photo with smart glasses, you can instantly check the results with just a quick glance at your smartwatch.
In addition, features such as the ability to control content being played on headphones or home speakers using the smartwatch, and the ability to change the audio output destination to another device using the media output switching function have also been implemented.
In the second half of 2026, Gemini Intelligence will be available on select Wear OS 7 compatible devices. Gemini Intelligence will enable users to create custom dashboards using natural language with 'Create My Widget,' and perform tasks such as booking gym sessions or ordering at restaurants directly from their smartwatches.
Furthermore, Gemini's new ' Neural Expressive ' design will be introduced to smartwatches, and ' Personal Intelligence ,' which provides optimal suggestions for each user by referencing information from Gmail, Google Search, and other sources, will also be implemented.
In addition, significant power-saving optimizations at the system level mean that upgrading from Wear OS 6 to Wear OS 7 will improve battery life by up to 10% on average.
Wear OS 7 will be available from June 16, 2026.
