◆ AI chatbots and more will be added to Firefox Labs, where you can try out experimental features
In Firefox 130, two features have been added to Firefox Labs, where you can try out features under development: 'AI chatbot' and 'Automatically open picture-in-picture when switching tabs.' To enable the features, simply check the respective settings in the 'Firefox Labs' tab of the settings screen.

The five candidates for AI chatbots are 'Anthropic Claude,' 'ChatGPT,' 'Google Gemini,' 'HuggingChat,' and 'Le Chat Mistral.'

When you select a chatbot, it will appear on the left side of the screen. You can ask the chatbot questions while browsing various pages.

The 'Show prompts on selected text' option is enabled by default, and when you select text on a page, the AI mark will appear. When you hover the cursor over the AI mark, the options to 'summarize,' 'make it easier to understand,' and 'ask a quiz' appear, making it easy to use the chatbot.

In addition, if you enable the 'Automatically open picture-in-picture on tab switching' feature, another Firefox Labs update, picture-in-picture will be automatically displayed when you switch tabs while watching a movie.

◆ A feature to translate only part of a page will be added
Firefox's built-in translation feature now supports translating not only the entire page, but also parts of the page. The number of languages supported in Firefox 130 has increased, but Japanese is not supported.
