ビデオ・音声通話ツール「Discord」が拡張現実スタートアップの「Ubiquity6」を買収

AR(拡張現実)スタートアップとして創業し、近年はオンラインでの共有体験に軸足を移していた「Ubiquity6」をDiscordが買収したことが明らかになりました。買収規模などは明らかになっていません。

Ubiquity6創業者のAnjney Midha氏は「ジェイソン・シトロン氏、スタニスラフ・ヴィシュネフスキー氏(Discord共同創業者)とともに未来を作ることができて、とてもうれしいです」とツイート。

Discord創業者のジェイソン・シトロン氏は「Ubiquity6チームをDiscordに迎えることができて感激です。私たちの使命はゲームの周りに人々を集めることで、そのことはまだ私たちの心の中にあります。Ubiquity6のみんなの助けを借りて、友だちとゲームをすることを簡単にする方法を紹介するのが楽しみです」とツイートしました。

DiscordがUbiquity6をいくらで買収したのかは明らかになっていません。また、Ubiquity6の開発チームやマルチプレイヤー技術はDiscordに統合されるとのことですが、今後Discordにどういった形で現れてくるのかもまだ今のところ不明です。
