Works from the 'Evangelion' series, which has maintained its popularity since 'Angel Attack' more than 30 years ago, will be featured at Wonder Festival 2026 [Summer].

The TV anime 'Neon Genesis Evangelion,' which aired in 1995, caused a massive boom that could be called a social phenomenon, and the subsequent 'Rebuild of Evangelion' film series concluded with 'Evangelion: 3.0+1.0 Thrice Upon a Time,' released in 2021. Even more than 30 years after its initial broadcast, 'Evangelion' remains a popular title with

I've come to the BearPanda corner at the corporate dealer AmiAmi Hobby Camp (booth number: 8-02).

Statues of Rei Ayanami and Asuka Shikinami Langley. Already on sale.

Displayed next to it were 1/16 scale figures of Rei and Asuka, scheduled for release in 2027. Asuka was wearing the casual clothes she wore in the TV series, so she was identified as Soryu Asuka Langley, and the work was listed as 'Neon Genesis Evangelion.' The price is yet to be determined.

Additionally, the Furyu booth also displayed Japanese doll figures of Shikinami Asuka Langley and Ayanami Rei.

At the booth of ' Shinkiken ' (8-06-01), an action figure brand developed by model manufacturer WAVE, the prototype of the Super Evangelion from the official spin-off novel 'Evangelion ANIMA' was on display for the first time. It is scheduled for release in 2026, but the price is yet to be determined as it is still under supervision.

Azumaterasu the Great Bow

It is far more heavily armed than the Unit-01 that appears in the TV anime and theatrical films.

This is a pre-assembled action figure, and as of the time of writing, it appears to be designed to be able to kneel.

We moved to the general dealer area. At

In episode 12 of the TV anime series, 'The Value of a Miracle,' the Angel Sahaquiel falls from outside the atmosphere. This is a display stand where you can hang rings or necklaces. The price is 4000 yen (tax included).

In episode 22, 'At Least, Be Human,' the 15th Angel, Arael, launched a psychological attack on Asuka, but was pierced by the Lance of Longinus thrown by Unit-00. This is also available as a display stand. It costs 3000 yen (tax included).

The Third New Tokyo City buildings (4000 yen) and the rapid-fire gun building (5000 yen) can be used as desktop organizers. And the Sixth Angel (attack form) from the new movie series is 4000 yen including tax. If you collect and use them together, you could probably decorate your home in the colors of Evangelion.

And then there's Sachiel, the fourth Angel, which appeared in the first film of the new theatrical series, 'Evangelion: 1.0 You Are (Not) Alone.' It has already been attacked, and its second face is emerging from below. The price is 20,000 yen.

What he's holding is the SDAT player that Shinji uses. The track number is '25'.

Seeing that it was wearing earphones made me realize, 'So Unit-01 has ears there... but then again, it's an android, so I guess that makes sense.'

On display at 'Let Me Build Your Favorite Kaiju!' (6-12-09) was 'Eva Unit-02 The Beast,' which appeared in the new theatrical version of 'Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance.' The original sculpt was created by

This is what it looks like from the side. The bolts that pop out when the restraints come off, the fang-like teeth characteristic of beast mode, the thick neck and beast-like physique are all reproduced.

The figures on display at Zerlos Studio (5-23-01) were of Asuka and Rei. The sculpting was done by

Asuka. It has a transparent design.

Since Rei is also compatible with Asuka, if you're going to display them at home, you'll probably want to get them as a set.

Furthermore, this figure of Rei exudes a fleeting, almost ethereal aura, as if she might gently fall from somewhere. The original sculptor is Kyusho, and the painting is by Kiwi_Paintingshop.

A view from slightly above. The ribbons and uniform seem to defy gravity, giving her a lovely expression.

At the booth of

This is a test model of the head created using that technology. The monitor in the middle was displaying footage of the carving process.

The head model looks like this.

Viewed from the front, the smooth surface finish and meticulous craftsmanship reveal a high level of precision. The base is engraved with the NERV logo from the TV anime series.

What I saw at

Misato is sleeping in a messy room, a bottle of alcohol in her hand.

The room was littered with beer cans and sake bottles, but it also contained books that seemed to hint at the origins of Misato, one of the few survivors of the Second Impact that occurred in Antarctica and the daughter of the research team's leader.

Penpen was outside the frame.

The prototypes for the 1/7 scale figures of Misato Katsuragi and Ryoji Kaji, which were on display at cake's pokemon (3-16-13), were exhibited. The prototypes were created by

Kaji carries Misato, who appears to be passed out drunk, on his back with a resigned expression. This statue offers a glimpse into the relationship between the two.

And this is what the prototype on display looked like. Pre-orders are expected to begin around autumn 2026.

I took a closer look. It seems to have a slightly more realistic design than the original design from the new movie.

Penpen was sitting at my feet.

I visited

The helmet portion of the plugsuit. The visor is made of clear plastic, allowing you to see the character's facial expression.

This is the test suit that appeared in 'Evangelion: 2.0 You Can (Not) Advance.' The price was 12,000 yen.

On display at

A button switch located in the cockpit of the AAA Wunder, as shown in the film.

The items on display at the booth could actually be held and spun. With this, you can save the world together with Misato while watching the movie.
