I tried out some useful features by connecting the Wacom Movink 13, the thinnest and lightest liquid crystal tablet in Wacom history, which has top-class pen parallax and touch operation

Wacom's LCD tablet ' Wacom Movink 13 ' is only 4mm thin and weighs 420g, making it ideal for portability and drawing in any position. Not only is it thin and light, but the parallax and touch technology of the display and pen tip are also of high quality, so I tried using the Wacom Movink 13, which I was able to borrow early.

The Wacom Movink 13 can be powered on by connecting it to a PC or smartphone with a USB Type-C to C cable and can be used as a liquid crystal tablet. The USB-C ports are located on the top left and right, so you can connect it to the one that is easiest to use according to your work environment.
The included USB Type-C to C cable has an L-shaped end, allowing it to fit along the side of the tablet.

Connect the other end to a USB-C port on your PC that supports 'DisplayPort Alternate Mode' video output.

If Wacom Movink 13 starts up and displays the same screen as your PC, then it's OK.
When you first connect to a PC, the driver required for setting up the Wacom Movink 13 will be installed. From

Click 'Download tablet driver.'

Once the download is complete, launch the installer.

Click 'Agree'.

Wait about 5 minutes for the installation to finish.

When 'Success' is displayed, the installation is complete. You will need to restart your PC, so click 'Restart now.'

When the PC restarted, the Wacom Center started. A description of the device was displayed, so click 'Skip' and the driver preparation was completed.

Wacom Movink 13 has achieved the 'smallest parallax in Wacom's history,' which makes the parallax between the pen tip and the drawing surface almost impossible to feel. When I actually wrote characters on the screen with the included Wacom Pro Pen 3, I didn't feel any misalignment between the pen tip and the line actually written.

The Wacom Pro Pen 3 also has highly accurate pressure and tilt detection. I tried writing with different pressure settings while keeping the pen settings constant, and the pen pressure was detected properly and the thickness of the lines changed.

I also tried coloring a page from the full-color comic '

The Wacom Pro Pen 3 that comes with the Wacom Movink 13 is a special specification for the Wacom Movink, which is specialized for portability, but the Wacom Movink is the first professional creative pen display to support the versatile 'dual pen technology' that is used in digital pens from famous stationery manufacturers, so you can use Wacom's conventional digital pens as well as pens made by other companies that use the same standard. Below is Pilot's Dr. Grip using '

In addition to using a pen, the Wacom Movink 13 also allows intuitive touch operations such as zooming in and out, moving, and rotating.

You can also use the buttons and panel to access other useful functions. The power/menu button below the left and right USB-C ports turns the device on and off with a long press, while a short press opens the settings menu.

When you press the settings menu for the first time, the language setting will be displayed, so tap the home icon.

The settings menu allows you to adjust the screen brightness, change the input source, display settings, tablet buttons, other settings, display saving, and touch on/off.

The 'Input Source' can be set to 'Automatic' to recognize the input, or you can set it to start up when connected to either the left or right USB-C port.

In 'Display Settings,' you can adjust the color mode, brightness, and black level of the display, and depending on the color mode, you can also set detailed settings such as color space, color temperature, gamma/EOTF (photoelectric transfer function). Tap 'Color Mode.'

In addition to 'Native,' color modes can be selected from 'AdobeRGB,' 'DCI-P3,' 'Rec.709,' 'Rec.2020,' 'Display P3,' 'sRGB,' 'EBU,' and 'User-defined.'

The 'tablet button' can be assigned to either the power or menu button on the left or right, or to the touch on/off toggle button or

When I pressed the power/menu button, the message 'Touch function: OFF' was displayed in the center of the screen. In this state, I could not operate the Wacom Movink 13 by touch.

The same touch function can also be switched on/off from the settings menu.

In 'Other Settings' you can change the language, menu transparency, LED lamp brightness, turn the pen side switch on/off, switch the power button behavior between power off and screen off, and turn the startup logo display on/off. You can also reset the device if you want to do so.

In addition, since the Wacom Movink 13 uses an OLED display, burn-in may occur if the same image is displayed for a long time or if it is used at high brightness. Turning on 'Display Saving' from the settings menu will help to extend the life of the display by limiting the maximum brightness and slowing down the deterioration of the OLED display. 'Display Saving' is on when it is white and off when it is black, and the official recommendation is to keep it on all the time. If you want to temporarily check the screen at a higher brightness, just tap 'Display Saving' to turn it off.

Another convenient feature of the Wacom Movink 13 is the freely assignable touch menu. There is a thin square mark on the bezel next to the power and menu buttons.

You can freely assign actions to the touch menu here. Open Wacom Center, go to 'Express Keys' and click 'Wacom Screen Key' which points to the touch menu.

When you select 'Express Menu,' 'Express Menu' is also displayed in the area pointing to the touch menu in the upper right corner of the image below.

The Express Menu is a menu that allows quick access to Undo and Redo, but the contents of this menu can also be freely customized in Wacom Center.

By tapping the touch menu, a shortcut menu was displayed on the screen of the Wacom Movink 13. By setting frequently used actions to the touch menu, you can access them quickly.

There are touch menus on the left and right sides, each of which can be configured.

Wacom Movink 13 is scheduled to be released on Wednesday, May 15th, and the selling price at the Wacom store is 118,800 yen including tax. However, at the time of writing, the initial sales limit of the Wacom store had been reached, so reservations were temporarily closed.
