I tried a benchmark test of Microsoft's 2-in-1 tablet 'Surface Go 3' with enhanced CPU performance

Microsoft's 2-1n-1 tablet ' Surface Go 3 ' released on October 5, 2021 has enhanced CPU performance from the previous model 'Surface Go 2' released in 2020. I did a benchmark test to see how well it actually performed.

Compared to the previous model, Surface Go 3 has a CPU changed from Pentium Gold 4425Y to Pentium Gold 6500Y, OS is Windows 11, and battery performance is slightly improved. There are no other major differences.

Benchmark software ' Geekbench 5 ' and ' PassMark PerformanceTest ' were used for performance measurement, and the test was performed twice and the one with the higher score was selected.

Tested with Geekbench 5, the single-core score was '815' and the multi-core was '1608'.

The single-core benchmarks assuming various processes are as follows. The result is that the single score is '815', the encryption process is '1066', the integer operation is '745', and the floating point operation is '925'.

The multi-core benchmarks assuming various processes are as follows. The result is that the single score is '1608', the encryption process is '2418', the integer operation is '1503', and the floating point operation is '1699'.

In addition, it is as follows when compared with the previous model Surface Go 2. The single core of Surface Go 3 is '397' and the multi-core is '978', while the 3rd generation model has a single core of '815' and a multi-core of '1608', the CPU has been changed from Pentium Gold 4425Y The score is increasing by that amount.

Then I tested it with the PassMark Performance Test.

Of the graphs displayed, the orange bar is the result of this time, and the bar displayed directly above it is the sample score of Surface Go 2. The overall score is '1172' for Surface Go 2 and '1575' for Surface Go 3.

The CPU of Surface Go 3 is about 1.8 times that of Surface Go 2.

The 2D graphics score is slightly higher than the Surface Go 3.

The result is that 3D graphics are slightly below the Surface Go 3.

Surface Go 3 has slightly better memory.

The disc had similar results.
