A large amount of confidential information such as about 20 GB of chip data and source code leaked from Intel



It is reported that somebody is exposing 20GB of confidential data stolen from Intel online. The leaked data includes

Kabylake reference code and Tiger Lake firmware that will be released in 2020.

Reverse engineer Tille Kottmann, who received the file from an anonymous hacker, shares a Telegram post on Twitter with a link to the stolen file.

The data has been uploaded to

MEGA .



The file size is about 16.93GB in ZIP format.



However, when downloading from MEGA, the file size exceeds the transfer amount of the free account.



The leaked file is also distributed on Torrent, and the magnet link is open.



The file released by the hacker with the comment 'Intel exconfidential Lake has been released' was managed under a strict nondisclosure agreement . A hacker told Kottmann that an Intel server had been found on the unprotected CDN and could be easily compromised.

Intel said in a statement to IT media Bleeping Computer that the data will come from the Intel Resource and Design Center. 'We are currently investigating this matter. It is believed that individuals with access cases downloaded and shared this data.'

IT news site Appleinsider says that processor-related items are likely to be directly linked to PC security issues, and that the issue of Tiger Lake, which is about to be released, is also a particular issue. Also, although some of the leaked files were encrypted, the password was 'intel123' or 'Intel123', which could be easily guessed, so 'Intel's lack of security awareness is exposed'. I'm pointing out.
