Starlink, a provider of satellite internet services, launched 'Starlink Aviation' in 2023, making Starlink available on aircraft.

This initiative will enable seamless streaming, web browsing, and real-time communication on all American Airlines domestic and short-haul international flights.
Garboden added, 'Starlink's high-speed, low-latency communication improves the reliability of our in-flight Wi-Fi. This is crucial for customers to stay connected throughout their flight, whether they're loading websites or participating in real-time collaborative tools. We're thrilled to be able to provide a home-like Wi-Fi experience on narrow-body aircraft , allowing customers to work, play, stream, and browse the web to their heart's content.'
American Airlines plans to improve its Wi-Fi environment by implementing Starlink on more than 500 Airbus narrow-body aircraft, including the new A321XLR, which will be introduced from 2024.
Incidentally, Amazon Leo, a rival of Starlink, has also developed antennas for aircraft communication services, and Delta Air Lines and JetBlue Airways have decided to adopt them.
