Steam Deck inventory plummets, parts shortage likely

It has been discovered that Valve's portable gaming PC, the Steam Deck, is out of stock in some regions. While Valve has not commented on the matter, it has been suggested that production of the Steam Frame and other products has been delayed, possibly due to a shortage of parts.

According to IT news site Tom's Hardware, Steam Deck is out of stock at the US Steam store and KOMODO STATION , the official distributor of Steam Deck in Japan, Hong Kong, South Korea, and Taiwan.
Upon checking, I found that all three models were indeed 'sold out,' although the 512GB and 1TB models are scheduled to arrive in late February.

Valve will stop production of the LCD Steam Deck at the end of December 2025, so the 256GB model with LCD will likely be discontinued.
Tom's Hardware suggests that Valve may be struggling with low parts inventory and manufacturing costs compared to other consumer hardware manufacturers, as it has been forced to postpone the release of its SteamOS gaming PC 'Steam Machine' and VR device 'Steam Frame.'
