We ran a benchmark test on the ASUS ROG NUC, a small gaming PC equipped with Intel Core Ultra 9 and GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU



The small gaming PC ' ASUS ROG NUC ' announced by ASUS in July 2024 is equipped with the '

Intel Core Ultra 9 185H ', a laptop processor designed on Intel's 14th generation Core platform, and the NVIDIA laptop GPU 'GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU', and features powerful specifications. ASUS lent me the 'ASUS ROG NUC' for review, so after reviewing the appearance and disassembling the main unit , I conducted various benchmark tests.

The ASUS ROG NUC is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 9 185H CPU, which has 16 cores and 22 threads, as confirmed by CPU-Z . The ASUS ROG NUC also has an option to be equipped with an Intel Core Ultra 7 155H.



When checked with

GPU-Z , the ASUS ROG NUC was equipped with NVIDIA's GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU. The ASUS ROG NUC also has the option to be equipped with a GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU.



When I checked the storage with

CrystalDiskInfo , I found that the SSD used was a Samsung MZVL21T0HDLU-00BT7 , with a storage capacity of 1TB.



Next, we performed a benchmark test at a room temperature of 27°C.

The transfer speeds of the ASUS ROG NUC SSD measured with '

CrystalDiskMark ' are as follows: sequential read 7025.21MB/s, sequential write 4956.02MB/s, random read 441.96MB/s, random write 399.41MB/s.



Next, we ran CrystalMark Retro , which measures the performance of the CPU and 2D and 3D graphics. The ASUS ROG NUC got an overall score of 22316. The CPU's single-core score was 11546, and its multi-core score was 146398.



The CPU benchmark results using '

Geekbench 6 ' were a single-core score of '2335' and a multi-core score of '13380'.

In addition, when we measured the GPU performance with OpenCL, a score of '119100' was recorded.



My score on Vulkun was '110107'.



Next, we conducted

the PassMark PerformanceTest Ver.11 test. The overall score was 10976.



CPU score is '33619'



2D score is '829'



3D score is '25431'



Memory score is '2556'



The disk score was '45884'.



Next, we ran the '

FINAL FANTASY XV WINDOWS EDITION Benchmark .' This allows us to get a sense of how comfortable the game will be when playing. Below are the results of running the benchmark with 'Image quality: High quality,' 'Resolution: 3840 x 2160,' and 'Window,' which places the maximum load on the system. The score was 4679, and the rating was 'somewhat comfortable.'



Setting the resolution to 1980x1080 improved the results significantly, scoring 11663 and rating it 'Very Comfortable.'



In addition, we tested the '

Final Fantasy XIV: Golden Legacy Benchmark ' with the default resolution and image quality settings of '1920 x 1080', 'highest quality', and 'windowed mode'.



The test results rated it as 'Very Fast', with a loading time of 22.160 seconds and a score of 16628.



The ASUS ROG NUC that I rented this time can be purchased from the ASUS official website. The price is $ 2,199 (about 355,600 yen).
