Photo review of the 'DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel,' a professional-grade, compact, and affordable color panel that can also be used with an iPad

Blackmagic Design , a video equipment manufacturer that sells the video editing software DaVinci Resolve and professional camera equipment, has released the DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel , a compact and relatively affordable color panel with professional specifications. A color panel that is affordable not only for professional colorists but also for amateur video editors has finally arrived, so I was able to borrow the actual machine from Blackmagic Design and took lots of photos to check out what kind of product it is.

The package for the DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel looks like this.

Inside the box were the DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel and a USB-C cable, protected by styrofoam.

The DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel itself is here. Its dimensions are 364mm wide x 182mm long x 48mm high, and it weighs 1.18kg. Its width is about the same as a tenkeyless keyboard, and it weighs 1.18kg, so it's easy to carry around.

It looks like this next to the 12.9-inch iPad Pro that came out in 2018.

You can prop up your iPad in the groove that runs along the long side of the main body.

There are three trackballs located at the bottom center of the main unit, and you can rotate the trackballs and the ring controller around them.

There are 12 knobs on the top of the unit. From the left, the knobs are 'Y LIFT', 'Y GAMMA', 'Y GAIN', and 'CONTRAST'.

'PIVOT' 'MID DETAIL' 'COLOR BOOST' 'SHADOWS'

It is used to control 'HIGHLIGHTS', 'SATURATION', 'HUE', and 'LUM MIX'.

When you actually pinch it with your fingers, it looks like this. It is possible to rotate it very smoothly left and right.

There are 14 keys on the left

13 on top of the trackball

There are 13 keys located on the right edge, which are used for frequently used functions and workspace navigation.

The keys don't make a clicking sound, they sink quietly and smoothly, but because the keystroke is 2mm, you get the feeling that you have pressed them firmly.

There is nothing on the front of the unit.

The rear is as follows:

In the center is the Bluetooth pairing button and the USB-C port.

There is nothing on the left or right side.

The back side has large anti-slip pads on both sides. The DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel is quite light at 1.18kg, but there is no need to worry about the body slipping and causing incorrect operation.

The included USB-C cable is for connecting to a PC via a wired connection. The DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel can also be used wirelessly via Bluetooth, but you will need a USB-C cable to charge the device.

The DaVinci Resolve Micro Color Panel is available at the Blackmagic Design official store, priced at 84,980 yen including tax.
