Developers of apps for Discord are required to pay Discord a platform fee that is a percentage of their revenue, minus taxes, payment processing fees, and transaction fees.

Discord previously required a flat 30% platform fee on the revenue app developers made on Discord, but it was announced that starting June 6, 2024, Discord will lower its platform fee to 15% until a developer's app generates $1 million in revenue.

Discord is also

adding the ability to offer one-time purchases that don't require a subscription, such as 'one-time games,' 'in-game skins,' and 'premium assets.'

With this change, developers will be able to list their products for sale via a storefront that can be found in the Discord App Directory or on their profile.

At the time of writing, this change has been rolled out within the EU, including the US and the UK, and the timing of its rollout in Japan has not yet been determined.
