Magnolia1234, the developer of Bypass Paywalls Cleen, reported on April 13, 2024 that 'Bypass Paywalls Cleen has been blocked by GitLub.' Magnolia1234 also received a repository removal notice based on the DMCA.

Magnolia1234 has not revealed the cause of the uproar, but foreign media TorrentFreak speculates that 'even though the code for Bypass Paywalls Clean was created by Magnolia1234 himself, some users may have been abusing DMCA notices to falsely claim copyright infringement.'
