I tried using Photoshop's 'delete tool' to easily erase and naturally correct unnecessary objects in the photo just by filling them

As a new feature introduced from Adobe Photoshop 24.5 released in May 2023, in addition to '

generative fill ', there is a ' delete tool '. With this tool, you simply brush over an object and intelligent technology removes unwanted objects while automatically filling the background while preserving object integrity and background depth. , I tried to erase the thing that was actually in the picture.

The Delete tool is in the same group as the Healing Brush tool, etc.

First, let's erase the person from the photo taken of the person running.

Select the 'Erase Tool' and mask the subject you want to erase with the brush, in this case a person.

After applying the treatment, the human figure disappeared, leaving only a deserted road.

A dog resting at his feet.

When I processed it, I didn't even know where I was. If you feel uncomfortable with the fact that 'the trash that is falling is exactly the same', you may notice that 'something is wrong'.

It doesn't matter how big or small the subject you want to delete. As an example, let's try to erase the Tower of the Sun.

It disappeared easily. Slightly, the connection of the mountain range behind the disappearing area may be unnatural.

Together with this point, when I thoroughly erased the artifacts in the photo, it looked like a completely ``photo taken of a forest somewhere''.

I also processed a photo of Dotonbori at night to see how it would look like with a lot of people in it.

When you erase the people in the front of the photo, it looks like this. It is an impression that 'maybe there are a little less people'.

Then I tried to destroy the ship. The reflection of lighting on the surface of the river is also beautifully processed.

Finally, I tried to process many signboards. As expected, the area with a large area was treated quite suspiciously, but the appearance of small signs and the like was as if 'there was nothing like that from the beginning.'

Adobe's help sometimes refers to this process as 'doing magic', but it's more like 'delete magic'. If you use this function, even if a complete stranger appears in the photo you took, you can easily get closer to the photo you originally wanted to take by saying, 'I'll erase it with deletion magic.'
