According to Meta's announcement, future videos of less than 15 minutes will be Reels movies. Videos longer than 15 minutes and previously posted will continue to be Instagram videos. 'This change is part of Instagram's efforts to provide a more immersive full-screen experience,' Meta explains. The app also integrates the videos in your profile and the Reels tab into one.

With this change, if you post a Reels video with a non-private account, any user will be able to create their own Reels from that Reels. You can prevent your Reels from being used by people from your account settings, and if your account is private, your Reels will only be exposed to your followers.

As a new tool for creating and sharing Reels, Instagram has added a 'Dual' feature that allows you to add your own reactions to someone else's Reels. With this function, it is also possible to shoot using the front camera and back camera of the smartphone at the same time.

In addition, you can now use the 'Templates' function that allows you to create Reels from photos and videos using the templates provided in advance.

In addition, Instagram has also released Reels Remix as a duet-like feature on TikTok. This allows you to select a layout from a green screen, horizontal or vertical split screen, and picture-in-picture reaction view. It also adds a 'Remix Photos' option that allows users to remix published photos. Remix is enabled by default, but you can turn it off in your account settings, and you can also set whether to remix individually for each post.

Meta says 'within the next few weeks' when newly posted videos will be Reels.
