With the theme of horoscope, the content is that witches fight each other by making full use of the 'numbers' engraved on the card of fate, and it is said that it is a completely different game even though it is a Blade Rondo series. I got the chance to play such Cross Lords a little earlier, so I actually played it.

◆ Outer box / contents
The Cross Lords package looks like this.

The number of players is 1-2, the play time is 15 to 30 minutes, and the target age is 12 years old or older.

Open the lid to check the inside. The back of the lid was decorated with illustrations reminiscent of numerology and astrology.

Inside was a manual and two lifeboards.

80 cards, 1 blue enemy action cube, 2 red life markers.

There are five types of cards: character cards, misogi cards, star spirit cards, enemy cards, and fate cards.

Numbers are written on the fate card, and each is given a different illustration and name.

◆ I played with two players
First of all, we will prepare for the game so that we can play against each other. Place a life marker on '20' on the life board.

Shuffle the 6 character cards well and deal 3 to each of the 2 players. Character cards have unique effects, so each player chooses one of the three. At first, even if you look at the effect, you can't really tell how advantageous it is in the game, so first I chose the character card just by looking at it.

Place the Holy Spirit card and the Misogi card next to the two life cards.

Shuffle the fate card on the other side and place it as a deck. Also, the selected character card will be placed on the left side of the life board.

Now you are ready. Decide the first attack and the second attack with rock-paper-scissors.

The first attack takes 3 cards from the deck, and the second attack takes 5 cards.

The rules of the game are very simple, and you win if your opponent's life points are set to 0. Players can perform 'Stardust Generation', 'Attack', 'Sequential Number Creation', 'Equivalence Creation', 'Activation of Sublimation Card', and 'Star Spirit Sublimation' in any order on their turn. Then, at the end of the turn, 'Return the sublimation card to unused' 'If you have more than 3 cards in your hand, discard your favorite hand so that it becomes 3 cards' 'Draw 4 fate cards from the deck and add them to your hand ', And pass the turn to the opponent.

' Stardust Generation ' reveals the numbers engraved on the fate card in your hand on the right side of the lifeboard so that the total number is 10, and makes it 'Stardust'. You can use this stardust to reduce your opponent's life points by 1 by declaring an ' attack ' to your opponent. Discard the used stardust. Also, the generated stardust must be used up within the turn.

The fate card in your hand can be a sublimation card as well as a stardust. Combining 3 fate cards so that the numbers are serial numbers, reveal your hand ...

Place only one of them in the sublimation area in front of the lifeboard. Since the skill that can be activated when it becomes a sublimation card is written on the fate card, you can ' create a serial number ' of the sublimation card by referring to this skill. By sticking out the created sublimation card from the sublimation area, you can ' activate the sublimation card '. For example, this '2: Love' card has the effect of 'increasing the number of one card by 1 or 2'.

With the effect of activating this '2: Love' sublimation card, you can increase the number of '8: King' cards in your hand by 2 to 10 cards. Now you can generate stardust with one 8 card. Each sublimation card can only be activated once per turn, but at the end of the turn it will return to the unactivated state, so once it is generated, it can be kept as a sublimation card until the end. However, please note that you can only place up to 7 cards in the sublimation area.

' Create Equivalence ' reveals a combination of three fate cards with the same number, and one of them can be used as a sublimation card. Also, if you create the same value, you can recover 2 life points by discarding all 3 cards. In addition, the 'α: outside' card in the image below is a fate card that can be used as almighty only when creating serial numbers and creating equivalent values.

Also, the fate card contains a red 'Scarlet'. Scarlet's fate card can be used by increasing or decreasing the number by 1 if desired. For example, the Scarlet of '3: Swordsman' can be used as 2 or 4. Therefore, by considering the numerical value as 2, it is possible to create serial numbers in combination with '0: End' and '1: Ancient astrology'.

In addition, it is also possible to regard the scarlet of '4: Gaijou Tsukai' as 5, and further increase the number by 1 by the effect of '2: Love' to consider it as a 6 card. Now, 6 + 4 = 10, and you can generate stardust.

A state in which two stardust are generated. If you declare 'attack' with this, you can inflict 2 damage to your opponent's life points.

However, the sublimation card of '3: Swordsman' is activated here. '3: Swordsman' can deal 3 damage to the opponent at the cost of 2 stardust, so it is more powerful than using the stardust as it is for attacking.

And if you can reduce the life point of the other party to 15/10/5 or less first ...

You can get one Misogi card. The Misogi card can be placed in the sublimation area as it is and used as a sublimation card.

Also, by using 3 stardust ...

You can summon a star spirit card to the sublimation area with ' Star Spirit Sublimation '. If you activate the ghost, you can deal 1 damage to your opponent at no cost, so it is very powerful.

In addition, unique effects are set for character cards. For example, 'Ludmira, the Sword of the Stars' has the effect of unconditionally turning one card into one stardust if you deal a total of 3 or more damage to your opponent during the turn.

The sublimation card of '4: Gaijou Tsukai' is a card that deals 2 damage to yourself and 4 damage to your opponent. In other words, if you activate '4: Gaijou Tsukai', the effect of 'Ludmira of the Sword of the Stars' will be activated and you can add one stardust, so it will be possible to inflict a total of 5 damage to your opponent. ..

With that kind of feeling, we scraped each other's life points, and it wouldn't be strange which one was stabbed at the end. If you don't cut all your opponent's life points this turn, Anastasia will definitely be killed in the next turn.

First, Anastasia activates the '6: Anti-Flag' sublimation card.

The '6: Anti-Flag' card can make 1 stardust with 2 6 cards, and has the effect of dealing 1 damage to the opponent and at the same time recovering 1 life point. In addition, one '10: Sanctuary' will be turned into stardust.

Now that you have two stardust, the effect of '3: Swordsman' will do 3 damage. With this, the opponent's life points are 1 remaining.

Furthermore, due to the effect of the Misogi card, discard the remaining 1 card and draw 1 card.

The card I drew is a '0: End' card. I was wondering if I could do anything with this one card ...

Activate the sublimation card of '5: Crossroads of Destiny'. 'Change the number of one card in your hand as follows. (0⇔10) (1⇔9) (2⇔8) (3⇔7) (4⇔6) (5⇔α)' Change the '0: End' card to 10 cards. With this, one '0: End' card becomes a stardust, and you can attack your opponent.

The opponent's life point becomes 0 and the game ends. I played while checking the rules, but as I got used to the game immediately, it took about 20 minutes to play the game.

◆ I played with solo play
Cross Lords also has a solo play mode, so you can play alone. When playing alone, use the enemy card instead of the opponent player.

The arrangement is basically the same as the two-player play.

In solo play mode, the player is the first player. Start with 3 cards in your hand.

Generate stardust ...

Attack the opponent and end the turn.

Enemy actions in solo play are processed according to the action pattern written on the enemy card. Place an enemy action cube on top of the card and move the cube as the turn progresses.

The enemy this time, 'Silluze with Life Expectancy,' deals only 1 damage at the beginning, but on the 2nd and 3rd turns, it does 2 damage but 4 damage.

As a result, the player's life points were quickly reduced, and the number fell below 15.

Normally, it is a scene where the opponent can get a Misogi card, but in the case of an enemy character in solo play, the action written in the action pattern 'Misogi' is additionally processed.

The enemy's behavior pattern loops, so once every three times you only need to deal 1 damage. I will go into a strategy to attack on the turn that only causes this 1 damage.

While recovering physical strength by creating the same value ...

The player side also attacks repeatedly.

The strategy was successful, and I managed to defeat the enemy at the last minute.

Cross Lords is a simple rule that you can understand immediately after playing once, and even beginners of board games can quickly get used to it, but the gameplay is very profound. Since there is a limit to the number of serial numbers, the same value, and the fate card that is the key to addition, it is important to count 'how many more cards with this number ...', but the effect of the card, α card, scarlet Since you can adjust the numbers with such things, it is possible to create the numbers you want by strategy, and I felt that the strategy is quite wide.

Cross Lords will be available in late May 2022. The price is 3520 yen including tax, and Amazon.co.jp is also accepting reservations.
