I played the RPG '10 Lines Hero' for MSX made with only 10 lines of code in the browser



Honoppe, the developer of the game development engine ' YU-RIS ', has released a free RPG '10 Lines Hero ' made with only 10 lines of code. I was really wondering what kind of game I could make with 10 lines of code, so I actually played '10 Lines Hero'.




'10 Lines Hero' is MSX in the game for, on the browser MSX emulator has been designed to work even. Wait about 30 seconds after the emulator starts, and then '10 Lines Hero' will start.



The game screen of '10 Lines Hero' looks like this. The play area is displayed on the left side of the screen, the mini map is displayed on the right side, the enemy's level / health (HP) is displayed on the upper side, and the player's level / HP / experience value (EX) is displayed on the lower side. In addition, the player surrounded by a red frame, the green enemy character 'Surapuyo', and the 'recovery grass' that recovers physical strength when touched are placed in the play area. The purpose of '10 Lines Hero' is to explore the dungeon displayed in the play area and save the princess trapped in the back of the dungeon.



The battle of '10 Lines Hero' is done by 'hit' the enemy character. The 'direction of weakness' is set for each type of enemy character, and you can reduce your physical strength by hitting the enemy from the direction of the weakness. On the other hand, if you hit the body from a direction that is not a weak point, you will receive a lot of damage.

As I explored, I found the key needed to go deeper into the dungeon. However, the key can only be obtained by defeating the powerful enemy 'Kaffun' in the same area. This time, the enemy's level was 10, while the player's level was only 3, so I decided to withdraw once and raise the level.
