While enjoying the scenery of Aso on the Hohi Main Line, which has been restored from the damage of the Kumamoto earthquake, we have been collecting 'Kimetsu no Yaiba' stamps.

I went to Kyushu to capture all 13 digital stamp rallies of the '

Kimetsu no Yaiba x JR Kyushu ' collaboration project to commemorate the release of the movie version 'Kimetsu no Yaiba' infinite train edition. Of the target stations scattered all over Kyushu, after capturing the first triangular station and returning to Kumamoto station, the next stop is the Hohi main line to Aso station.

◆ October 2, 2020 (Friday) 9:00: Kumamoto Station → Aso Station

After a round trip to Misumi station in the morning, I returned to Kumamoto station at 8:13. This is a character board installed as part of ' ONE PIECE Kumamoto Reconstruction Project! ~ Straw Hat Pirates, Hino Kuni Reconstruction Edition ~ '. In addition to Kumamoto Station, it is also installed at Suizenji Station, Hikarinomori Station, Higo Otsu Station, Tateno Station, Akamizu Station, Uchinomaki Station, Aso Station, and Miyaji Station.

The Hohi Main Line, which we will be boarding from now on, is a line connecting Kumamoto and Oita.

Due to the great damage caused by the Kumamoto Earthquake that occurred in April 2016, some sections were cut off, and the entire line was restored in August 2020 .

The line is roughly divided into four sections, 'Kumamoto Station-Higo Otsu Station', 'Higo Otsu Station-Miyaji Station', 'Miyaji Station-Bungo-Takeda Station', and 'Bungo-Takeda Station-Oita Station'. Only 'Play ! ' And ' Trans-Kyushu Limited Express '. Only the section between Kumamoto Station and Higo-Ozu Station is electrified, and one train arrives every 15 to 30 minutes, but basically it takes more than 4 hours to run on a slow train.

This time, by boarding 'Aso Boy!', You can run through this section in just over 3 hours.

The character dog 'Kuro-chan' welcomes you everywhere in the car. The first and last cars are covered with such 'Kuro-chan' goodwill ...

The other side is a full-view sheet where you can enjoy the great scenery of Aso. However, as a panoramic seat, this part is originally a seat that requires an extra charge even for 'Asoboi!', Which is a reserved seat for all cars, and it is very popular, so it will be a considerable competition.

'Aso Boy!' Departs from Kumamoto Station at 9:09. Take a course from south to east and move away from the Kyushu Shinkansen and Kagoshima Main Line.

It was early after I left, but it was breakfast time because I hadn't eaten anything since morning. At

Higo Yokamon Ichiba at Kumamoto Station, only 'Obento Hirai' was open by the time 'Aso Boy!' Departed, except for convenience stores and souvenir shops, so ' Kumamon BOX Bento ' and ' Chikuwa ' I bought ' Salad '.

'Kumamon BOX Bento' has many parts that are attracted to the impact of appearance, but the contents of Kumamon rice balls, dashimaki, fried chicken, meat dumplings, original chikuwa salad, wieners, and sudden dango make you feel good. Meet me.

'Ikinari dango' is one of Kumamoto's specialties, and is made by wrapping sliced sweet potatoes and red bean paste in dough.

'Chikuwa salad' is fried chikuwa with potato salad. Chikuwa heaven and potato salad are like 'one of the side dishes' when they are sold separately, but by combining the two, they can be used as a single item to cover one light meal, which is neither a snack nor a side dish.

The train arrived at Higo-Ozu Station while eating rice. Aso Kumamoto Airport is a 15-minute free bus /

airport liner ride. Up to Higo-Ozu Station, the train window was mainly like 'a suburb of a local city' where residential areas and farmlands are mixed, but from here you can enter the 'mountains' at once.

As 'Aso Boy!' Approached Tateno Station, when I looked at the opposite side of the direction of travel, I saw the trail of mountain restoration work on the top of the mountain, which had not yet passed much time.

On Google Maps as of October 2020, you can clearly see the area after the restoration with aerial photographs.

When I arrived at Tateno station, Frankie was waiting at my platform.

Due to the long stop time, many people went down to the platform to take a commemorative photo.

At Tateno Station, there is a switchback where the train turns back and climbs a gentle slope in order to capture the steep slope. Looking at the aerial photograph, it looks like this. You can see that the railroad tracks come from the lower left, turn back at Tateno Station, turn back on the left side of the center, and turn right again, drawing an inverted Z shape.

The train coming from the direction of Kumamoto will start running toward Kumamoto once. The track that ran from the direction of Kumamoto earlier splits to the left. In this way you gain height on a gentle slope.

Another railroad track is approaching from behind the right hand in the direction of travel, that is, from the direction of Oita. This is the track that we are going to run from now on. This part also seemed to be damaged, and it was a brand new slope.

Drivers moving in the car to turn back. After this, we will start running toward Oita again.

On the right side of the train window, the Aso Bridge connecting National Route 57 and National Route 325 is being rebuilt. It is scheduled to open in March 2021.

As the train progresses, it will pass where the Aso Bridge originally hung. Due to the impact of the Kumamoto earthquake, the ground on which the piers were located collapsed and collapsed. A college student who was traveling by car was involved in this collapse and died.

From the car window on the other side, you can see that there was a big collapse even on the top of the mountain.

The place is around here.

After passing the place where Aso Bridge was, you will see Sgarugataki Falls on the right side of the direction of travel.

On the left hand side, the outer ring mountain rises like a wall.

At Akamizu Station, we separated from the Trans-Kyushu Limited Express bound for Kumamoto.

Nakadake can be seen on the right hand side in the direction of travel.

We proceeded while looking at Nakadake and arrived at Aso Station at 10:25. There was a TV crew on the platform of the station, probably because of the news about Go To Travel.

Don't forget to get the third stamp. This is the love pillar, Kanroji Mitsuri.

The stop time is 6 minutes, so I have time to get off a little, so I went to the station building. Discover Usopp's character board.

On the outside of the station building, there is also a panel of the Straw Hat Pirates, 'Welcome to Aso!' However, the time expired before I found the poster for 'Kimetsu no Yaiba', and I had to meet the AR character again ...

There is a separation from the regular train, and 'Aso Boy!' Heads further east.

◆ October 2, 2020 (Friday) 10:31: Aso Station → Beppu Station
Beppu Station, the terminal station of 'Asoboi!', Is the target station for the stamp rally, so do not get off at Aso Station, but continue on to Beppu Station.

Arrived at Miyaji Station, where connections will almost certainly occur when you arrive by regular train.

The place is around here. When coming from the direction of Kumamoto, we waited for 1 hour across the board except for the timetable that arrived at 6:42 and transferred to the departure at 7:06. It's a little better from the direction of Oita, and there are 3 connections within 40 minutes of waiting time, and the train leaving Bungo-Taketa Station at 20:59 goes directly to Kumamoto Station.

At this point, I bought 'Aso Children's Purin' in the car.

It feels like the strong sweetness permeates the body. By the way, there is also 'Adult Purin' with lamb.

It feels like going through the mountains from Miyaji station. More than 60% of the train windows are forests, and you can sometimes see the streets and rice fields.

Bungo-Taketa Station is a magnificent tile-roofed station building. This clears about two-thirds of the process.

The train arrived at Oita Station at 12:17, another hour of running.

However, the terminal station is still ahead. Proceed along the coastline.

When the train slows down and you can see the

Kamenoi Hotel , it's finally time to arrive.

◆ October 2, 2020 (Friday) 12:32: Beppu Station
'Asoboi!' Has arrived at Beppu Station, the final stop.

I got the 4th stamp, Inosuke Kohei.

I thought about the AR photo spot this time, but I couldn't find the poster inside the station and it wasn't outside the ticket gate, so when I asked the station staff, 'The poster doesn't seem to have arrived and hasn't been posted yet.' is what they said. There is no help for something that isn't there ...

By the way, in Kyushu, there is 'Tanjiro Shrine' with the same name as the surname of the main character of the work, Kamado Shrine, and it is regarded as the 'sacred place' of the work. One is

Kamado Shrine in Dazaifu City, Fukuoka Prefecture, and the other is Hachiman Kamado Shrine in Beppu City.

The closest station to Hachiman Kamado Shrine is Kamegawa Station, which is two stations next door. There is a train bound for Kamegawa at 12:44, so if you take the train, you can reach Kamegawa Station at 12:51. It's about a 20-minute walk to the shrine, and there are not many buses, but there are also buses.

It's also about 20 minutes by car from Beppu Station, so you can take a taxi. However, this time it was decided that the train departing from Oita Station at 13:50 would head toward the Kyudai Main Line, and if I missed it, I would lose more than 3 hours, so I decided to give up visiting the shrine.

So, I returned from Beppu station to Oita station in preparation for moving to the next target station.

Next, I will take the Kyudai Main Line, which has been partially interrupted due to the heavy rain disaster in the summer of 2020.
