"Firefox 52" official version is released, correspondence with WebAssembly started, security function improved

The official version of Firefox 52 has been released. Firefox 52 realizes high performance web "WebAssemblySupport began,Firefox SyncNow you can send tabs from one terminal to another and open it. ◆ Changes in Firefox 52 Desktop Edition

○ New functions
· Added correspondence to WebAssembly. This is a new standard technology that brings near-native performance to web-based games, applications, and software libraries without using plug-ins.
· Added automatic detection of captive portal to make it easy to connect to Wi-Fi access point. If you need to connect to the Internet through authentication at the captive portal, Firefox will display a message on the new tab to open the portal login page.
· Implemented the Strict Secure Cookies specification which prohibits setting of "secure" attribute cookie by unsafe HTTP site. In some cases it is also prohibited to set an insecure site with a cookie with the same name as an existing "secure" cookie issued from the same base domain.
·Inexecutable HTTP page including login formAdded warning on. If you select a user name or password entry field on a page that does not use HTTPS, the message "This connection is not secure" is displayed.
· We have activated Firefox's multi-process on Windows PC with touch screen.
- I made it possible to open tabs by sending tabs from one terminal to another using Firefox Sync.

Correction point

Follow the procedure below to "use Firefox Sync to send a tab from one terminal to another and open it". First, log in to your desktop version of Firefox with your Firefox account, select "Sync tab" from the menu.


Click "Sync Now"


Next, login to Firefox for Android with your Firefox account, tap "Settings" from the menu.


Tap on your Firefox account name.


Tap "Sync now".


Right-click on the tab of the desktop version, "Send tabs to terminal" appears on the menu, so select the name of Firefox for Android version. In this case "Firefox on Pixel"


Then Android displays the following notification, and when you tap it, the URL is displayed on the tab.


Also, regarding "Add warning on unsafe HTTP page including login form", the sentence "This connection is not secure, there is a possibility that the login information entered here may be leaked" was displayed .
