I've heard digging and digging the leaves into Brian Burke, the producer of "Star Wars" and "Mission: Impossible"

Brian Burke is the producer at the movie "Mission: Impossible / Rogue Nation" starring Tom Cruise, which will be released on Friday, August 7, 2015. Brian Burke is also responsible for the producer of 'Star Wars / Force's Awakening' released on December 18, 2015, and I've heard digging root digging, including those around it.

GIGAZINE (hereinafter, G):
I heard that the content of work will differ for each work as a producer. Also, in this work, Tom Cruise starring concurrently as a producer, and four other producers, what is the role of Mr. Bark in that?

Brian Burke (Brian)
It is the second work to work with Tom, but the mission: Impossible's main producer is Tom, which was originally his plan, so I will not cling to Tom with his work clinging from behind (Laugh) If it says what I mean, I will coordinate various factors in order to realize the vision that the director is thinking, help in casting, securing locations and staff, etc. It was my job. It is a feeling that supports planning and production going forward well. Tom was doing multiple jobs as well as producers and producers as well as actors, and he always showed his face to the scene where he did not appear in order to confirm the progress of the whole movie. So, my most important work was to help Tom variously so that he would not die (laugh)

G:
Please tell me about the cast of this work. As for the members from the previous work, the character nature is strongly established and it is the reason why Sean Harris was appointed to a villain lane hostile to such a member? Did you decide Harris as an audition, or have you chosen Harris by name from the beginning?

Brian:
The director chose Sean from among several candidates. The power and presence of Sean was wonderful. Sean has never played a villain like this time, he is an actor who reads the script firmly and understands the character and prepares exactly by practicing the dialogue. But, mission: Impossible suddenly changed direction at the workplace, I think that there were things I had hesitated because the script was hard to decide. In some cases, after you came to the scene, you checked the lines and acted as it is. Among these situations, I think that director and Tom have brought life to the character he thought and the actor with wonderful talent.

Although it may have an image of "scary" due to the characters that played, in fact it is worried that after the shoot "Was it okay with the current performance?", "Were you becoming the character that the director wanted?" I have a side to do. Despite having a wonderful talent, in reality it is a very humble, low-backed person.

G:
Mr. Burke belongsBAD ROBOTIs engaged in SF works such as "Star Wars / Awakening of Force" "Star Trek" and vehicles and spy gadgets that make the future feel like SF are also introduced in the "Mission Impossible" series. Is there any technology that you are curious about thinking about such 'ideas not in reality'?

Brian:
All that came out with the movie can be bought at Tokyu Hands. (Laugh) Before shooting the movie, is it sure to go to Tokyu Hands and have something to use? I look for various things. If you go to Tokyu Hands, or Don Quijote, you will find something you want!

G:
I am very detailed (laugh)

Brian:
Tokyu Hands and Don Quijote are definitely a place to visit whenever you visit Japan! I always do it in the United States after a couple of years when I found it in Japan. It was a long time ago, but I have eaten Kobe beef when I went to Kobe. At that time no one knew about Kobe beef in the US, but now everyone knows.

G:
That's right! I feel happy why. So, I will call on you again. Please tell me about the technology you are currently paying attention on making SF movies and action movies.

Brian:
I do not know because I have not been to Tokyu Hands yet (laugh) When I make a joke about this, seriously think ... ... For example, a droid or creature with a new technology came out in "Star Wars / Force's Awakening" To do. George Lucas, who worked on the original work, said, "I have this kind of technology, how can I show it in my work? How can I draw the future?" And we also I am doing the same way as he does. It looks like a real thing, not on a computer, it makes me feel like touching with my hand. For that purpose we incorporate robotics engineering, but please look forward to it.

G:
Then, to the next question ... ....

Brian:
Wait, there was one more! Do you know Kickstarter? Actually in Kickstarter, with meJ · J · AbramsI happened to have invested in the same project. It's a 3D printer that can output pancakes. It reads images and illustrations on a PC and automatically outputs them, but you can bake pancakes of various designs using burnt-out. I would like it in Tokyu Hands now (laugh)

G:
That's right! A 3D printer that outputs the pancake,I also posted it on GIGAZINEYou may.

Brian:
is that so! That is really amazing!

G:
It is a very interesting device. I also want one unit ... .... Talk back to the next question. Why did Mr. Burke choose work as a producer in engaging in movies? What is the charm of the producer industry that attracted Mr. Bark?

Brian:
Normally, the director will be immersed only in the work and do the work. I am not smart enough to become a coach, but working with people who are very smart like Christopher, Tom, and other directors is a very special experience. It is an attractive part of a producer and it is also a pleasant thing to build such a wise intelligent person together into one work. Also, although this director has never worked with a screenwriter or actor in a different field, it is also a great appeal to think about what kind of work will be born as a result of collaboration.

G:
I see. Then, it is the last question. Working with uncompromising people like Tom Cruise, I think that the limit of ability is required, but please tell me what was good and what was tough in charge of this work.

Brian:
There is not a person who is enthusiastic about work as Tom and is passionate about work. For Tom it is all about making the best movies, and box office income is said to be like an indicator of the success of the movie, but Tom himself does not matter. It is truly an honor to work with Tom who wants to make the best movie and deliver it to people around the world. Also, when you work with Tom, you must do your best too! There is something I think. Sometimes it is really hard to keep up with Tom who works on sleepless days of rest, but it will be irritating enough to make it somehow to make an effort.

This concludes the interview.
