Bend is a high-speed programming language that runs on GPUs and prevents AI errors through 'proofs,' offering processing speeds comparable to C, parallel processing with CUDA, formal proofs using Lean, and Python-like syntax.

' Bend ' is a new programming language that aims to block potential errors that AI might make through 'proof.'

Bend was developed as a means of clearly communicating intentions to AI, envisioning a future in the post- AGI economy where humans are freed from writing and reading code. Bend expresses intentions more accurately through 'Laws' and verifies whether the AI has correctly implemented the prompts through 'Proofs.' Furthermore, a high-speed compiler ensures fast execution.

The main features of Bend are as follows:

• Fast execution speed
Because Bend compiles to native code, it runs at a speed close to C on a single core. Furthermore, with 16 cores or a GPU, it can run nearly 100 times faster than on a single core. In a benchmark using symbolic regression, it showed faster execution results compared to conventional languages: 3.01 seconds on one core, 0.27 seconds on 16 cores, and 0.53 seconds on a GPU.

• Fast compilation
Because Bend's type checker also functions as a proof checker, it can compile medium-sized codebases in under a second, compared to several minutes for languages like Lean and Rocq. This means that AI agents can quickly check the results of changes to source code. Compiling a codebase with 12,800 definitions takes over 5 minutes for Isabelle and Agda, 36.2 seconds for Lean, 5.99 seconds for Rocq, and just 0.29 seconds for Bend.

Efficient parallel processing
Bend can distribute tasks across multiple cores without the need for thread lock kernels, enabling efficient parallel processing.

- Preventing AI errors through proof
The laws declared in LAWS.bend become rules for AI coding, making it mathematically impossible for the AI to generate code that violates them. As an example, consider defining the rule 'impossible to win' in a game.

Let's say you instruct the AI to 'make a full circle around the board' as a new feature.

Without a law in place, merging new features might overturn the 'unwinnable' rule.

Because the law only allows Bend to permit code changes that maintain the 'unwinnable' rule, the reliability of AI-generated code is dramatically improved.

• Easy to implement
If you want to use Bend, the installation is very simple. First, run the script on the official website to install it, and then simply instruct your AI agent to use Bend. It is recommended to add the following to 'AGENTS.md':
[code]
When using Bend:
- run `bend guide` to learn it
- use `LAWS.bend` to keep important rules
- run `bend PROOF.bend` before committing
- parallelize the code whenever possible
[code]

Bend is a groundbreaking programming language with the potential to contribute to bug-free vibecoding. It's still a work in progress, so bug reports are welcome.
