OpenLogi allows you to configure various settings in the same way as Logi Options+ without needing a user account.

Logitech mice and keyboards can be used with dedicated software called ' Logi Options+ ', which allows you to assign functions to buttons and set shortcuts. OpenLogi was created as a 'local-first alternative' to Logi Options+, allowing you to configure mouse button assignments and other settings without needing an account.

OpenLogi is described as offering 'all the features of Logi Options+ without an account.' Because OpenLogi directly controls the mouse via Logitech's proprietary extended communication protocol 'HID++,' functions such as buttons, DPI, and SmartShift can be operated from a native app without connecting to any external server. The device can be accessed via Bluetooth or USB cable.

The core of the app lies in the mouse settings, as follows: By selecting each button and choosing the action to assign to it, the mouse's functions can be directly rewritten.

Additionally, you can check the battery level and charging status of paired devices in a carousel format.

According to the developers, OpenLogi requires no intermediaries between the mouse and the computer, and no accounts, telemetry, or cloud services are needed. Bindings are stored in a simple TOML file owned by the user, and all changes are sent directly to the device via HID++. In-app updates are opt-in and disabled by default, and new builds are available from signed installers on the release page.

Additionally, a feature to import Logi Options+ settings into OpenLogi is currently under development as of the time of writing.

OpenLogi can be used by selecting the macOS, Linux, or Windows version from

the official website and downloading the installer.

Details about OpenLogi are available on GitHub. However, GitHub includes a note stating that 'OpenLogi is currently under active development and is not yet stable. Features and settings may change in the future.'
