According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, who is well-versed in Apple's internal affairs, Apple is planning to raise the price of AppleCare+ for Macs and iPads soon. The price increase is expected to be $0.50 per month (approximately 81 yen) or $5 per year (approximately 810 yen), and will not apply to existing subscribers.
If the price increase goes ahead as planned, the cost of AppleCare+ for the 13-inch MacBook Air will increase from $7.49 (approximately 1,200 yen) per month to $7.99 (approximately 1,300 yen) per month, and from $74.99 (approximately 12,200 yen) per year to $79.99 (approximately 13,000 yen) per year.
As of the time of writing this article, the annual AppleCare+ fee for the 13-inch MacBook Air in Japan is 11,800 yen.
Incidentally, Apple just raised the prices of its iPads and Macs in May 2026.

Apple has not yet raised the price of its iPhones as of the time of writing, but CEO Tim Cook has stated that a price increase for iPhones is 'unavoidable.'
