According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, who is well-versed in Apple's internal affairs, Apple is planning to raise the price of AppleCare+ for Macs and iPads soon. The price increase is expected to be $0.50 per month (approximately 81 yen) or $5 per year (approximately 810 yen), and will not apply to existing subscribers.
If the price increase goes ahead as planned, the cost of AppleCare+ for the 13-inch MacBook Air will increase from $7.49 (approximately 1,200 yen) per month to $7.99 (approximately 1,300 yen) per month, and from $74.99 (approximately 12,200 yen) per year to $79.99 (approximately 13,000 yen) per year.
As of the time of writing this article, the annual AppleCare+ fee for the 13-inch MacBook Air in Japan is 11,800 yen.
