A feature has been added to Claude that allows users to check their past usage, such as 'what time it was used' and 'what kind of conversations were held.'

Anthropic's AI, Claude, now includes a feature that allows users to review the times they most frequently used Claude and the tasks they worked on during those times, on a monthly basis.

According to Anthropic, interviews conducted with approximately 81,000 users worldwide in December 2025 revealed a strong desire to 'gain a deeper understanding of how AI can be integrated into daily life.' In response, Anthropic developed the 'Retrospective Dashboard,' a feature that easily tracks and visualizes Claude usage, allowing users to determine whether that time aligns with their goals.

Under 'Settings,' you can review your chat history with Claude for the past 1, 3, 6, or 12 months by going to 'Reflect.' You can also see when you used Claude most often and a breakdown of what you worked on, and a feature to display the total time you spent using Claude is planned to be added soon.

The following is an example of a summary of what I used Claude for.

With Claude, you can set times when you don't want to use it from the dashboard, and set up notifications to remind you to stop using Claude after a certain amount of time. If you feel from the review dashboard that you might be relying too much on Claude or that you're spending more time on a particular task than you thought, Anthropic recommends that you control your usage time by adjusting Claude's settings.

Furthermore, by leveraging

the 4D AI Fluency Framework to improve how tasks are completed in conjunction with Claude, we recommend reviewing how you use Claude based on your usage, such as 'This task is more efficient if done in this way' or 'I frequently enter this prompt, so I can omit it.'

The retrospective feature does not access information from 'secret chats' or files obtained from external tools. Furthermore, conversations related to health management tools are completely excluded from the retrospective feature. Anthropic emphasizes its privacy protection, stating, 'The information and insights displayed in the retrospective feature are stored there only and will not be used for any other purpose.'

Claude's retrospective feature is available in beta for free, Pro, and Max users using the web or desktop app, and can be used by enabling the memory feature. A feature to review conversations in Claude Cowork will also be available soon.
