Subsequently, in March 2025, xAI acquired X (formerly Twitter), which had been acquired by Elon Musk.

SpaceX, the space development company where Elon Musk serves as CEO, acquired xAI in February 2026. When SpaceX announced the acquisition of xAI, Musk unveiled his concept of 'space-based AI.'

Furthermore, in early May 2026, Musk posted on his X account that 'xAI will be dissolved as an independent company and will henceforth become 'SpaceXAI,' which is SpaceX's AI product.'

Then, at 4:29 AM on July 7, 2026, the official X account for xAI, @xai, was changed to @SpaceXAI , and the post read, 'We are now SpaceXAI.'

The form may change, but there are definitely traces of 'xAI' remaining.
