Google Finance itself is a service that has been around for over 20 years, and most recently, the 'new AI-powered Google Finance' has been rolled out to more than 100 countries worldwide. Despite undergoing several major updates, the service has not had a mobile app until now.

On June 26, 2026, the Google Finance mobile app was finally released.

Just like the web version, the app allows you to create watchlists, monitor real-time market data, and check financial news—all in one place. It also features numerous AI-powered functions, such as generating 'critical moments' in stock price performance graphs, where AI explains the reasons behind fluctuations.

Additionally, users can access the AI research tool via the 'Questions' button displayed at the bottom of the UI. This allows users to converse with Google's investment-focused AI about stocks. The bottom bar also includes a history section, providing easy access to past chat history.

Over the next few months, many of the features available on the web version, such as live earnings calls, portfolio functionality, and task management features, will be added to the mobile app. An iOS app will also be available in the second half of 2026.

The web version also includes features that allow users to create portfolios by adding screenshots or files (such as CSV or PDF) detailing their holdings, or by simply describing their assets. Once the portfolio is set up, a research tool allows for further analysis, with AI answering natural language questions such as, 'Which sectors currently have a low weighting in my portfolio?' and 'How does asset allocation to bonds affect long-term growth potential?'

It also supports cryptocurrencies, allowing you to set tasks such as, 'Send me a daily pre-market briefing that analyzes the major overnight price movements of key cryptocurrencies.' Schedules and instructions can be freely edited, and you can use watchlists and portfolios to get analysis results tailored to your own investment situation. This information is received as notifications in the Google app for Android and iOS.
