Google rolls out AI 'Gemini' to Google Docs, Spreadsheets, Slides, and Drive, enabling document draft generation with 'Help me create'

In Google Docs, you can create a customized draft from related files by simply typing in what you want Gemini to create, like 'Please gather all the details I need for my trip to Nashville, Tennessee.'
Gemini explores flight and hotel reservation confirmations in Gmail, travel destination information stored in Google Docs and Google Spreadsheets, and more.
A draft of your travel plan has been created in the document. You can also edit the entire document by adding additional instructions, such as 'More details about this part of the document.' There are also features such as 'Match writing style,' which unifies the writing style and style throughout the document, and 'Match doc format,' which allows you to apply your favorite template to the document.
Similarly, with Google Sheets, you can simply tell Gemini what you want to work on, and it will pull relevant information from emails and files and set up the entire project automatically. You can also edit existing sheets.
You can also use Fill with Gemini to quickly auto-fill tables by instantly generating custom text, categorizing and summarizing data, and accessing real-time information from Google Search.
With Google Slides, Gemini will create an entire presentation, including layout, design, and charts, even from a simple idea. You can also adjust the color and atmosphere for each slide page.
In addition, Google Drive will be an active collaboration tool that not only stores files but also draws insights from them, by using 'Ask Gemini' to search for information across all files in Drive and displaying 'AI-powered summaries' at the top of search results. The Gemini update to Google Workspace will be available in beta to Google AI Ultra and Pro subscribers starting March 10, 2026. Initially, Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Slides will be available in English only globally, and Google Drive will be available in English only in the US, with support for more languages expected in the coming months.
