Notion Mail is an email client announced in October 2024 and released in April 2025 by Notion, known for its versatile note-taking app. It utilizes AI to manage emails in the inbox.

According to Notion, data export via the app or web will begin on June 25, 2026. The data retention period ends on September 21, 2026, and the service will be terminated on September 22, 2026, at which point all retained data will be deleted.

According to the help documentation, the only data that needs to be exported is that which exists only in Notion Mail, including email drafts, scheduled emails, snippets, and auto-labeling instructions. Inbox organization methods, files attached to snippets, and email reminders cannot be transferred.

Please note that the email workflow is handled by the Notion agent, so if you are using Gmail or Outlook in conjunction with Notion, there will be no changes, and it will continue to run as before.

Regarding the service's closure just over a year after its launch, Notion stated: 'When we launched the service, we believed that your inbox should think like you (the user). We believed it should be more personalized to your work style and become more powerful over time with AI. As Notion's agents became more powerful, we saw more and more users entrusting their email workflows to the agents. Now, more than half of Notion Mail users manage their emails without even opening their inboxes. So, we decided to fully commit to agent-based inbox management. We are grateful to everyone who built their routines around Notion Mail and entrusted us with something as important as email. Stay tuned for more updates!'
