Apple has raised prices across its Mac and iPad lineup, with the MacBook Air going up by 40,000 yen, but iPhones and Apple Watches remaining at their current prices.

On June 25, 2026, Apple simultaneously raised prices on several hardware products, including Macs and iPads. The 13-inch MacBook Air went from ¥184,800 to ¥224,800, and the 11-inch iPad Air went from ¥98,800 to ¥129,800, while the prices of the iPhone and Apple Watch remained unchanged.

The construction of data centers for generative AI is progressing worldwide, and the resulting surge in demand for memory and storage is driving up the prices of components used in PCs and tablets. According to Reuters, Apple has explained that while it has absorbed the rising prices of memory and storage chips so far, it has reached a point where it needs to start raising prices on multiple products.

For MacBooks, the price of the lower-priced MacBook Neo, released in March 2026, has increased from 99,800 yen to 119,800 yen. The MacBook Air's 13-inch model has changed from 184,800 yen to 224,800 yen, and the 15-inch model from 219,800 yen to 264,800 yen. The MacBook Pro's 14-inch model has increased from 279,800 yen to 339,800 yen, and the 16-inch model from 449,800 yen to 519,800 yen.

Prices for memory and SSD customizations have also increased. For example, upgrading from 16GB to 24GB of memory now costs 36,000 yen, down from 30,000 yen, representing an overall price increase of approximately 20%. SSD upgrades on the MacBook Air have also seen significant price increases, with the upgrade from 512GB to 1TB now costing 54,000 yen, down from 30,000 yen.

Desktop Macs have also seen price increases. The iMac went from ¥198,800 to ¥249,800, the Mac mini from ¥124,800 to ¥134,800, and the Mac Studio from ¥328,800 to ¥419,800. The Mac Studio, in particular, has seen a price increase of ¥91,000 even in its cheapest configuration, and the impact of the price revision is more noticeable for products that require high-performance memory and storage.

The iPad series has also seen a price revision across the board. The standard iPad has risen from 58,800 yen to 74,800 yen, and the iPad mini from 78,800 yen to 99,800 yen. The iPad Air's 11-inch model is now 129,800 yen from 98,800 yen, and the 13-inch model from 128,800 yen to 169,800 yen. The iPad Pro's 11-inch model is now 209,800 yen from 168,800 yen, and the 13-inch model from 218,800 yen to 269,800 yen.

Other price changes include the HomePod (from 44,800 yen to 59,800 yen), the HomePod mini (from 14,800 yen to 22,800 yen), and the Apple TV 4K (from 19,800 yen to 34,800 yen). The Apple Vision Pro, touted as a spatial computer, has also increased in price from 599,800 yen to 649,800 yen.

On the other hand, iPhones, Apple Watches, AirPods, and AirTags are not included in this revision of the domestic online store. However, Apple has not promised to keep prices unchanged in the long term, and in an interview in June 2026, CEO Tim Cook stated that price increases for Apple products, including iPhones, would be unavoidable due to rising semiconductor costs.

According to Reuters, Apple has not disclosed details about other measures it has taken besides raising prices, but has stated that it is working to find solutions.
