U-NEXT HOLDINGS, the operator of U-NEXT, one of Japan's largest video streaming platforms, has announced that it has signed a stock transfer agreement to acquire all shares of the animation production company GoHands, making it a wholly owned subsidiary. The acquisition date is scheduled for Monday, June 1, 2026. U-NEXT says that by making GoHands a wholly owned subsidiary, it expects to optimize costs, improve productivity and quality through the provision of technology to GoHands, and aim to grow revenue through the animation of its own IPs.
