This is what the Android-powered mini gaming device 'AYANEO Pocket S Mini' looks like.
The ' AYANEO Pocket S Mini ' is a gaming device released in Japan on March 26, 2026. It features a Snapdragon G3x Gen 2 SoC and allows users to install Android game apps and play using physical buttons and analog sticks. I was curious about what kind of device it was, so I borrowed one to try it out.

The AYANEO Pocket S Mini comes in two colors: Obsidian Black and Ice Soul White. This time, I borrowed the Ice Soul White version.
This is the AYANEO Pocket S Mini. It features a touch-enabled LCD display in the center, and directional buttons, ABXY buttons, and analog sticks on either side.
The LCD display is 4.2 inches in size, with a resolution of 1280 x 960 pixels and an aspect ratio of 4:3.
When you turn on the power, the area around the analog stick lights up.
The exterior features a one-piece CNC-machined roll metal frame. A MODE button for switching between performance modes is located on the left side.
There is a microSD card slot on the right side.
The top panel features the R button, R trigger, RC button, volume control buttons, power button, LC button, L button, and L trigger. You can assign your preferred functions to the RC and LC buttons.
The bottom features dual stereo speakers and a USB Type-C port.
There are ventilation holes on the back.
The dimensions are approximately 167.1mm x 77.85mm x 18.5mm, and the weight is approximately 305g. It feels quite heavy when held in one hand, but the weight is not noticeable when held with both hands.
The trigger area is raised, providing a good grip.
The operating system is Android, and you can install and play Android game apps.
Additionally, you can install apps other than games, such as Chrome.
The AYANEO Pocket S Mini is available on Amazon.co.jp and other retailers. As of the time of writing, the 8GB RAM/128GB storage model is priced at 83,800 yen, and the 12GB RAM/256GB storage model is priced at 92,800 yen.
