'The biggest barrier mobile phone users face is actually quite simple: whether or not we can understand each other,' said T-Mobile CEO Srinivasan Gopalan. 'When language is a barrier, the network is just a signal. That's not where we want to be. By building real-time AI directly into our network, T-Mobile is delivering more than just connections. Starting with live translation, we're transforming conversations into communities.'

According to T-Mobile, by incorporating AI services into its network, users of T-Mobile's ' Un-carrier ' service will be able to enjoy new features without having to buy a new device, change their contract, or download additional apps.

'Live Translation' is the first new feature to be offered, and allows real-time translation of over 50 languages.
