Season 2 of the TV series Fallout is scheduled to begin streaming on December 17th, and a video recap of the series has been released. The video includes narration by AI, but it has been criticized for being a complete mess.
For example, the AI narrator for the Fallout flashback scene describes it as '1950s America,' but it's actually a flashback to the nuclear-powered year of 2077. The AI narrator for the climactic scene in Season 1 was also incorrect.
The mistake has gone viral on social message boards Reddit and X.
Fallout on Prime added a season 1 recap but don't bother watching it, it's AI slop that gets several details wrong like the flashbacks being set in the 1950s and “Cooper offers Lucy a choice in the finale: die, or join him” phrased as if he'd be the one to kill her 😭 pic.twitter.com/zHLvN988w5

'Video Recaps is a groundbreaking application of generative AI in streaming. It's the first of its kind and demonstrates Prime Video's continued commitment to innovation and providing a more accessible and enjoyable viewing experience for our users,' said Gerard Medioni, vice president of Technology at Prime Video.
According to The Verge, Amazon has removed all AI-generated videos from its Video Recaps app following this failure.
