Prime Video already has a feature called ' X-Ray ,' which displays cast and behind-the-scenes information on a show when you press the pause button. Amazon has announced that it will expand the functionality of X-Ray and add a new AI-based summary feature called 'X-Ray Recaps.'

X-Ray Recaps is described as delivering short summaries of cliffhangers , plot points , and other details, and provides concise, easy-to-understand summaries of scenes from a show, entire shows, and even entire seasons, all while checking the minute and second of the show that the user is currently watching. This means that you won't have to rewind and watch a show if you miss a few minutes or haven't seen it in a while.

Below is an image of X-Ray Recaps. When paused, options such as 'Recap episode,' 'Recap season 2,' and 'Recap previous season' are displayed, allowing you to summarize the episode you are currently watching, the previous episode, or the entire season. According to Amazon, X-Ray Recaps is designed to summarize only what the user is currently watching, so there is no need to worry about spoilers.

'People have a common problem: forgetting where they left off in a show, and we're addressing this issue directly,' said Adam Gray, vice president of product at Prime Video. 'X-Ray Recaps delivers recaps of memorable moments and key plot points to help people remember what they were watching or rediscover why they fell in love with a show in the first place.'
