I tried the stone-grilled version of 'Black Stone Sauce Yakisoba' in Kuroishi City, Aomori Prefecture, where you pour sauce-flavored yakisoba over the yakisoba.

Kuroishi City, Aomori Prefecture, is known as a '

town of yakisoba,' with more yakisoba restaurants per capita than Fujinomiya City, Shizuoka Prefecture, known for its 'Fujinomiya yakisoba.' It is known for its specialty, 'Kuroishi Tsuyu Yakisoba,' which is yakisoba served with warm sauce. I had the opportunity to visit Kuroishi this time, so I tried the stone-grilled version of Kuroishi Tsuyu Yakisoba, 'Kuroishi Tsuyu Yakisoba.'

From Hirosaki Station, take the Konan Railway Konan Line to Kuroishi.

We arrived at Kuroishi Station in just under 40 minutes.

The rotary in front of the station was buried in snow.

In the Nakamachi district in the center of Kuroishi City, wooden arcades called 'komise' jut out in front of buildings, making it possible to move around without being bothered by snow. However, they are not connected to the station, and sometimes mountains of cleared snow form in the gaps between the 'komise.'

We arrived at Restaurant Miyuki in the Nakamachi district.

The location is just under 10 minutes walk from Kuroishi Station.

I ordered the 'Black Stone Sauce Yakisoba,' which has been revived for the first time in 15 years.

In about 10 minutes, a piping hot bowl of yakisoba with soup was brought to us on a hot stone.

Yakisoba noodles in bubbling soup.

It comes with shrimp tempura, rice, eggs, etc.

Pickled ginger, tempura flakes, and green onions.

The soup is sauce-flavored, so it tastes very different from ramen, but when you put it in your mouth, it feels like 'a lot of soupy fried noodles.' Even if you make fried noodles with a lot of Worcestershire sauce, it won't taste this bad, but it doesn't feel strange at all as a food, and the simmering sauce-flavored fried noodles warm you from the core.

Mix in the egg for a mellow flavor.

The meat soaked in the sauce tastes just like yakisoba.

Finally, add rice to make porridge. I don't usually make porridge with sauce, but this combination made me think, 'It might actually work.'

By the way, there is a restaurant called 'Sugo Shokudo' facing the front of Kuroishi Station that sells 'tsuyu yakisoba' and 'Kuroishi yakisoba sake' which is made to go well with tsuyu yakisoba, but it was closed at the time of this visit so I was unable to visit.
