Tasting review of Nakau's ``Japanese-style Bokkake Curry'' and ``Japanese-style Bokkake Curry Udon'' that stimulates the appetite with spices while simmering beef tendon to a sweet and spicy taste.

'Bokkake' is a sweet and spicy stew of beef tendon and konjac, and the gentle taste of bonito stock and fragrant curry. 'Japanese-style bokkake curry' is now available at Nakau! | Notice | Udon bowl and Kyoto-style udon noodles

Arrived at Nakau.
Near the entrance, there was a banner advertising Japanese-style kakkake curry.
I ordered Japanese style bokkake curry and Japanese style bokkake curry udon. It was served in about 5 minutes after ordering.
◆Japanese-style bokkake curry
This is what Japanese-style bokkake curry looks like. Carrots, konnyaku, and bamboo shoots are topped in the center, and Fukujinzuke is added in the corner.
When served, it looks like there is not much beef tendon, but there are large pieces of beef tendon hidden at the bottom of the curry. When I tried eating it, I found that the ingredients such as beef tendon were seasoned to emphasize the sweet element of ``soy sauce-flavored sweet and spicy Japanese stew.'' On the other hand, the curry has a medium-spicy flavor that leaves a tingling sensation on the tongue and down the throat, making it a sweet and spicy curry that you can enjoy not only the sweetness but also the spiciness that stimulates your appetite. The beef tendon was perfectly cooked, with a chewy texture and a crunchy part.
In addition to the creamy and crunchy texture of the beef tendon, you can enjoy a variety of textures such as the crunchy texture of the bamboo shoots and the chewy texture of the konnyaku, so I was able to eat all the way to the end without getting bored.
◆Japanese style curry udon
This is what Japanese style curry udon looks like. Like Japanese-style bokkake curry, it is topped with beef tendon, carrots, bamboo shoots, and konnyaku, as well as green onions and tempura.
I was wondering if it tasted similar to Japanese-style bokkake curry, but the Japanese-style bokkake curry udon felt like the Japanese-style soup stock had a strong flavor, and the taste was less sweet than the Japanese-style bokkake curry. The element of ``enjoying various textures'' is the same for Japanese-style bokkake curry udon, and you can enjoy the textures of beef tendon and bamboo shoots as you eat.
◆This is what it's like to take home
Japanese-style Bokkake Curry and Japanese-style Bokkake Curry Udon are also available for take-out, so I ordered one serving each and brought them home to see what kind of container they would be served in.
The Japanese-style bokkake curry was divided into a ``container containing rice and ingredients'' and a ``container containing curry.''
This is what it looks like when you put curry on top of rice.
The Japanese-style Bokkake Curry Udon was a two-tiered container, with the udon and ingredients in the upper tier and the soup in the lower tier.
This is what it looks like when you add udon noodles and ingredients to the soup.
Japanese-style bokkake curry and Japanese-style bokkake curry udon will be on sale at some stores starting Wednesday, September 27, 2023. The price is 690 yen (tax included) for a regular size of Japanese-style bokkake curry, 760 yen (tax included) for a large size, and 1090 yen (tax included) for a large size, and 690 yen (tax included) for a medium size of Japanese-style bokkake curry udon, and 790 yen for a large size (tax included).
