◆ Television
The Verge predicts that two TV trends will dominate at CES 2025. TVs will get bigger and bigger, and adding AI capabilities to every element is 'inevitable,' The Verge noted. As consumers have gravitated toward larger TVs (75 inches and up) in recent years, The Verge predicts we'll see giant OLED and Mini LED TVs from brands like Samsung, LG, TCL, and Hisense.
Regarding AI features, The Verge wrote, 'AI features are already being used for automatic image and audio settings, but given the popularity of AI assistants such as ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot, it's only a matter of time before AI chatbots are adopted for next-generation TVs.'
The Verge said, 'The most talked-about news is expected to come from Samsung and LG, but we're also very interested to see what Panasonic has in store for its return to the US TV market in 2024.'
Technology media PCMag points out that HDMI version 2.2 will be announced at CES 2025, and touts its faster data transfer and support for a wider range of resolutions. However, it said that HDMI 2.2 'exceeds the performance required for general movie and TV viewing' and 'it will take some time for HDMI 2.2 to become widespread,' so for now it is a next-generation technology that consumers do not need to worry about.
It has been revealed that the next HDMI standard 'HDMI 2.2' will be announced in January 2025, and new cables will be required to support uncompressed 10K resolution and 120Hz frame rate - GIGAZINE
◆Smart Home
With the arrival of Matter , the smart home standard, the Verge believes that CES 2025 is likely to bring about real innovation that takes the smart home to the next level.
One area where many new products with attractive features are expected to appear is 'smart locks.' 'Managing locks and security more easily and seamlessly is a universal need, and it will bring the benefits of home automation to more people,' The Verge points out.
Another expected trend is 'new ways to control the smart home.' Following the success of Amazon's Echo Hub, 'we will see a multitude of new touchscreen interfaces that connect to smart home devices and allow anyone in the home to control lights, door locks, blinds, and more without using a phone or voice,' The Verge points out. Samsung has already begun equipping various home appliances with touchscreens, with a vision of 'putting screens everywhere.'
Another big theme is robotics. Robot vacuums have innovated at an incredible rate in recent years, with many now able to sweep and mop floors while operating almost completely autonomously. With robot vacuum makers such as Ecovacs, Roborock, Dreame, and Narwal exhibiting at CES 2025, we may see robot vacuums reach new heights, The Verge noted.
Ahead of CES 2025, Roborock has announced the Roborock Saros Z70, a robot vacuum cleaner equipped with a robotic arm.

In addition, The Verge predicted that 'energy management' will also be a theme at CES 2025. The Verge predicts that most product announcements will focus on energy use and conservation, and that we will see announcements about new home energy management systems. 'We will see platforms that use AI to help regulate energy usage in the home, conserve energy, and save money,' The Verge said.
◆ Automobiles
The Verge points out that most of the world's major automakers will not be exhibiting at CES 2025, so automotive announcements will be 'the most lackluster ever.' That doesn't mean there won't be any exciting news, however, and The Verge lists Honda's ' Honda 0 Series ' and BMW's 'BMW VISION NEUE KLASSE ' as announcements to look forward to.
◆Notebook PC
In 2024, several semiconductor manufacturers, Intel, AMD, and Qualcomm, announced excellent mobile CPUs. Therefore, it is expected that notebook PCs equipped with Intel Arrow Lake and new AMD products will be announced at CES 2025. In particular, The Verge pointed out that notebook PCs equipped with NVIDIA's next-generation GPU, the RTX 50 series, will be announced all at once, which will be explosive. Regarding the RTX 50 series, The Verge wrote, 'We expect a significant improvement in performance from the RTX 40 series and not just an iterative update that will be more expensive.'

Other leaks suggest that AMD will be releasing a new powerful processor called 'Strix Halo' with integrated graphics that will rival NVIDIA's RTX 4060, allowing for above-average gaming performance without the need for a disc-read GPU.
While AI PCs were a big trend in 2024, The Verge predicts that 'AI PCs will not achieve much at CES 2025 beyond monotonous auto-generated work emails and chatbots.'
◆Game
NVIDIA has announced that CEO Jensen Huang will be on stage at the keynote speech at CES 2025, and is expected to announce the RTX 50 series. AMD CEO Lisa Su has also revealed that the company plans to release its next-generation GPU with RDNA 4 in early 2025.

There are also leaked reports that a number of laptops equipped with these GPUs will be announced at CES 2025.
In addition, ASUS , Samsung , and MSI have all announced the world's first 4K/240Hz OLED monitors ahead of CES 2025. MSI has already released an OLED gaming monitor with a resolution of 1440p and a refresh rate of 500Hz. With the arrival of the next-generation GPU, many next-generation OLED monitors compatible with high refresh rates are appearing, so '2025 is the perfect time to upgrade to the next-generation OLED monitor,' The Verge pointed out. Regarding monitors, PCMag wrote, 'HDMI 2.2 will be announced at CES 2025, so there is a possibility that many next-generation monitors using this will be announced in mid-2025.' Mashable predicted that 'with the arrival of the RTX 50 series, CES 2025 will also be a big event for gaming monitors.'
In addition, Lenovo is planning to release a mobile gaming PC equipped with SteamOS and will hold an announcement event at CES 2025. A Microsoft vice president is also scheduled to attend the event, and The Verge pointed out that Windows will compete with SteamOS in the mobile gaming PC field.
◆ Smartphone
In recent years, the technology industry has begun to realize that 'you don't need a smartphone to do everything.' You can take photos with a compact camera, use an e-reader to read, and use a music player to play music without a smartphone. It is important to note that these devices are not meant to completely replace smartphones, but rather to complement them.
PCMag also wrote, 'CES often showcases proof-of-concept products that later make their way into the mobile industry. But with companies like Samsung preferring to garner attention at their own events and Mobile World Congress, we're not expecting any new smartphones to be announced at CES this year. In other words, we're expecting surprises.'
Wearables
The Verge predicts that a variety of wearable devices will appear at CES 2025, including smart rings, smart glasses, AR headsets, and AI wearables.
In the healthcare sector, The Verge predicts that the trends of the past few years will continue, and in the AI sector, we will see more healthcare technology companies incorporate AI chatbots like ChatGPT into existing devices and services.
◆AI
NVIDIA is scheduled to hold a keynote speech on January 6th local time, and PCMag points out that this speech may determine the mood of the AI market. It also predicts that the AI market will be boosted by the fact that AMD, Intel, and Qualcomm's latest processors are equipped with NPUs and PC manufacturers adopt these chips. Among the major AI companies, OpenAI is not exhibiting at CES 2025, but both Google and Microsoft are exhibiting, and both of them show off their next-generation technologies at their annual developer conferences.
