'Today we released the Gemini app for iPhone, available for download in the App Store around the world,' Brian Markert, director of product management and Gemini experience at Google, said in a blog post on November 14. 'Now you can access Google's personal AI assistant for free and easily on your iPhone.'
The iOS version of the Gemini app can be installed from the App Store page below.
'Google Gemini' on the App Store

Visit the 'Google Gemini' page on the App Store and tap 'Get.'
Tap 'Install'.
Once the installation is complete, tap 'Open.'
Select the Google account you want to use and tap 'Continue as (account name)'.
A pop-up will appear saying 'Welcome to Gemini' and asking if you agree to your Gemini activity being used to improve Google's AI. If you agree, tap 'Use Gemini.'
A blank chat screen was displayed. If you tap the 'Ask Gemini' field at the bottom, you can interact with Gemini by manually entering text, speaking to it, or uploading photos and images.
Try asking 'What is Gemini?' via text.
Then, an explanation about Gemini was displayed as an answer.
You can also ask about the weather in Tokyo or discuss what to wear.
Tap the microphone icon to input voice.
By tapping the camera icon, you can attach photos taken with the camera or saved images and have a conversation with Gemini.
As a test, I attached a photo of the Google Pixel 9 and asked, 'What model is this?' and received the answer, 'This model appears to be one of the smartphones in the Google Pixel series.'
The Gemini app also allows you to access Google's cutting-edge image generation model,
Then, in just a few seconds, a high-precision image was generated that was recognizable as an 'ankylosaurus.'
Another feature of the Gemini app is that it can be seamlessly connected to other Google apps. For example, if you ask 'Tell me the way from Tokyo Tower to Tokyo Skytree,' it will work with Google Maps to calculate the route.
The Google Maps screen is displayed on the Gemini screen. Tap 'Open in Google Maps' in the bottom right.
Then, I was able to check the route from Tokyo Tower to Tokyo Skytree using the Google Maps app.
When I typed 'Play Creepy Nuts songs on YouTube,' a link to Creepy Nuts' songs on YouTube was displayed, and the YouTube player was also embedded in the chat screen. In this way, you can connect to various Google apps through Gemini.
In addition, the iOS version of the Gemini app also has a feature called 'Gemini Live' that allows you to have an interactive conversation with Gemini. To use Gemini Live, tap the icon in the bottom right of the screen.
Gemini Live is a feature that allows you to talk to Gemini by voice, so when you use it, your microphone will be turned on. Also, chats will be saved in the Gemini app. If you want to use it, tap 'Agree'.
Gemini Live allows you to choose from multiple voices. At the time of writing, there are 10 options: Ursa (female), Vega (female), Pegasus (male), Nova (male), Lyra (female), Eclipse (female), Ortbit (male), Capella (female), Orion (male), and Dipper (male), each with a slightly different tone and tone of voice. Select your favorite voice and tap 'Start.'
Now you can use Gemini Live for voice chat, where you can chat, ask questions, brainstorm, and more.
