Google describes Gemini Live as 'a mobile conversational experience that lets you have free-flowing conversations with Gemini.'

Google explained, 'Ask Gemini questions in real time. You can also dig deeper into specific topics mid-conversation or pause the conversation to ask again later. It's like having a friend in your pocket to chat about new ideas and practice important conversations.'
According to Google, Gemini Live can be used hands-free, allowing you to carry on your conversations in the background or even when your phone is locked.
Ten new voices have been added to make conversations with Gemini more natural, allowing you to choose the tone and style that suits you best.
Gemini Live will be available in English for Android users and Gemini Advance subscribers starting August 13, 2024, before expanding to iOS and additional languages in the coming weeks.
New features are also planned to be added, including an extension that allows users to add notes to the 'Keep' note feature via Gemini, as well as integration of Gemini with Gmail and Calendar.
Google points out that the problem with AI is that 'using large language models that can better interpret natural language and handle complex tasks often means simple tasks take longer to complete,' and explains that it is because of the above issues that it has created new models that provide faster, higher-quality responses, such as Gemini 1.5 Flash in the past. In the coming months, Google will continue to focus on speed and quality, and will integrate Gemini more and more deeply with Google Home, phone calls, and messages.
