A list released by Valve on September 20, 2024, listed hundreds of titles being tested on Proton, including ' Left 4 Dead 2 ' and ' Kerbal Space Program .'

The list also includes 'proton-arm64ec,' suggesting that Valve is developing Proton for ARM64.

Tom's Hardware, an overseas media outlet, speculated that 'Valve appears to be working to expand the Linux gaming environment from x86 to enable Windows games to be played on ARM devices.

Waydroid was also mentioned, and it may be possible that Android devices using the ARM architecture will receive Proton support. Valve's series of tests has the potential to significantly increase the number of users.'

In addition, some users have suggested that 'Valve is developing its own ARM architecture-based devices,' but Tom's Hardware denies this speculation due to cost issues. Overseas media XDA predicted that 'Valve may soon release SteamOS to devices other than Steam Deck , and the development of ARM64-compatible Proton is to support third-party ARM64 devices.'

At the time of writing, Valve has not made an official announcement about ARM64 support for SteamOS or Proton.
