Technology media AnandTech has reviewed the 'ASUS Zenbook S 16 (UM5606WA)' equipped with the 'Ryzen AI 9 HX 370' SoC. The ASUS Zenbook S 16 is a laptop equipped with a 16-inch display with a resolution of 2880 x 1800 pixels, a refresh rate of 120Hz, a maximum brightness of 400 nits, and an HDR peak brightness of 500 nits.

AnandTech used multiple benchmark software to measure the performance of the 'Ryzen AI 9 HX 370', and the results are as follows. In addition, ASUS offers four performance modes: 'Standard mode', ultra-quiet 'Whisper mode', high-performance 'Performance mode' with 28W TDP, and unlimited 'Full Speed mode', and the benchmark test was performed in 'Performance mode'.

In the peak power test, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 recorded a maximum of 33.03W. Normally, the peak power value is slightly higher than the TDP, but the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H recorded a peak power of 64.04W despite having a TDP of 28W.

Next, the image below shows a comparison of single-threaded performance scores using

SPEC CPU 2017 , a benchmark software for CPUs. The higher the score, the better the performance. The three being compared are the M3 , Ryzen 97940HS , and Intel Core Ultra 7 155H. The upper part of the two values (gray, orange) indicates integer calculation performance, and the lower part (black, red) indicates floating-point calculation performance. In integer calculation performance, it is only 0.01 points higher than the previous generation Ryzen 97940HS, which is far behind the M3, but in floating-point calculation performance, it recorded a score that was ahead of the others.

Details of the integer arithmetic benchmark are below. Light blue indicates the Intel Core Ultra 7 155H, orange indicates the Ryzen 97940HS, blue indicates the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, and black indicates the M3 scores, and the higher the score, the better the performance. Not only does the M3 record high scores in most tests, but there are also cases where the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 performs worse than the Ryzen 97940HS.

Details of the floating point calculation benchmark are below. In terms of overall score, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 was the top by far, but when looking at each item, there doesn't seem to be much difference. However, in some tests such as 549.fotonik3d, the score has improved by 41% from the previous model Ryzen 97940HS.

The image below compares the multi-threaded performance scores. In terms of multi-threaded performance, the Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 topped both the integer benchmark (gray, orange) and the floating-point benchmark (black, red).

Details of the integer arithmetic benchmark are below. The Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 has significantly improved performance from the Ryzen 97940HS in tests such as 502.gcc, 505.mcf, and 520.omnetpp, and there is a big improvement over single-threaded performance.

Details of the floating point arithmetic benchmark are below. In 503.bwaves, performance is significantly lower than that of the Ryzen 97940HS.
