AMD's official performance comparison table looks like this. In Chaos V-Ray, AMD Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX is appealing for its performance, such as being able to render 223% faster than Intel Xeon W-3495.
In addition, the Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series for high-end desktop PCs is scheduled to be sold from November 21, 2023 in the following lineup.
processor | core/thread | Boost/ Basic operating frequency | total cache | TDP | price | |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7980X | 64/128 | Up to 5.1/ 3.2GHz | 320MB | 350W | $4,999 | |
AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7970X | 32/64 | Up to 5.3/ 4.0GHz | 160MB | 350W | $2,499 (approx. 370,000 yen) | |
AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7960X | 24/48 | Up to 5.3/ 4.2GHz | 152MB | 350W | $1,499 (approx. 220,000 yen) |
PC Magazine remotely accessed Dell's lab to verify the performance of the top model of the processors announced this time, the Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7995WX, and published the results. The comparison target is the Threadripper 5000 series 64-core CPU ``Ryzen Threadripper PRO 5995WX'' that appeared in March 2022, and the 56-core CPU ``Xeon w9-3495X'' for Intel's workstations.
The results are shown below. Those marked with ☆ are indicators that indicate higher performance as the numerical value is smaller; for other indicators, the larger the numerical value is, the higher the performance is. While the difference was particularly large in Cinebench and Blender, which can fully utilize the large number of cores, there was not much of a difference in HandBrake, which only uses a fixed number of cores.
processor | Cinebench R23 | ☆Blender | Adobe Photoshop 22CC | 3DMark CPU 1-Thread | ☆HandBrake 1.4 | Crossmark | Geekbench 5.4.1 Pro |
