AMD's high-end CPU 'Ryzen Threadripper 2990 WX' updates Cinebench's world record with 5.1 GHz overclocking

AMD officially announced the second generation RyzenThreadripper (Ryzen Threadripper 2000) series as a high-end CPU on August 6, 2018. In the performance verification by AMD, 5.1 GHz overclocking (OC) succeeded and the world record of benchmark software Cinebench has been updated.

The Ryzen Threadripper 2000 series is AMD 's consumer high - end CPU adopting the "Zen +" microarchitecture of 12 nm process. It corresponds to the X399 motherboard of the same Socket TR4 as the 1st generation Ryzen Threadripper.
