I actually played a game on ASUS' 'ROG Ally X' which has twice the battery capacity and 1.5 times the memory
The ' ROG Ally X ', which ASUS will release on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, inherits the Ryzen Z1 Extreme, the top-class chip for current portable gaming PCs, from the previous model, while increasing the memory from 16GB to 24GB, doubling the battery capacity to 80Wh, and improving heat dissipation performance. Therefore, we actually played games on the ROG Ally X to check the battery life and heat generation, which are the most important concerns for portable gaming PCs.

To check the usability of ROG Ally X, I played ' ELDEN RING ', whose DLC was released on June 21, 2024, for about an hour. The video is below. Please note that this video also includes the second half of the DLC, so please be careful if you plan to play it yourself.

ELDEN RING is one of the most graphically demanding titles, but I didn't encounter any issues with slow rendering, even when taking on bosses with flashy effects or playing online.
However, when moving the viewpoint around on a vast stage, there was some noticeable stuttering.
ROG Ally X has three operating modes: Silent, Performance, and Turbo. After playing for just over an hour in Turbo with the highest performance and maximum screen brightness, the battery went from 100% to 64%. This means that you can play games that are quite demanding for 3 to 4 hours straight.
When I took a photo of the console after use with a thermal camera, the hottest part of the display was over 46 degrees. However, the controller didn't get hot, so I didn't notice any heat during play.
The back of the device was only 42 degrees Celsius, even around the vents, where the temperature was the highest. Therefore, while your fingertips may feel hot when playing games that require touching the screen and have high spec requirements, heat should not be an issue when playing general games.
